Im a touch boy now!!

Went into sprint tonight with my gf to get her new katanaII, asked the guy for the insurance number so I could get my mogul replaced due to my gf cracking the screen. The guy ended up swapping it out right at the store for a touch!! Didnt have to wait for the mail, talk to CS or ANYTHING. SWEET!! A quick ? for ya'll. I had an extra seidio screen protector from my mogul that fit the screen perfectly, now I notice the sprint one covers the area around the screen too. You think I'm ok with the small one that just covers the screen? or should I put the sprint one on?

Did you ask for a Touch? I've run into a wall with Sprint for now, they just ordered a replacement Mogul for me, never offered the Touch and when I suggested it. Got a "I'll work with you on price" from the store manager and ecare as well.

Well I don't use them at all as it looks so much better without one (TEP), but definetely use the big one.
One of the cool things about the touch coming from other devices, is the nice flush screen, it makes things like scrolling along the edge of the screen so much easier as well as selecting things along the edges.

Congrats

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't use one.

I really don't see the point. They interfere with the usage of the device and I've not scratched my screen on any of my PDAs up until right before I replaced it anyway.

I didnt ask at all. He saw my broken screen and told me he could do the insurance swap in store. When he went to do it they didnt have any moguls so he asked if I would take a touch. Um....YEAH!!

To you who arent using screen protectors, are you carrying your phone in your pockets or in a case? I just dont want to scratch the screen and end up with touchflo not working right.

Well I'm careful with it but no more than if I had a protector on, if i put it in a pocket I just make sure there's no metal keys coins etc, anything harder than the screen may scratch.

Sometimes I use the case, but no more than if I did have a protector on.
I'm careful but I never worry about it.

I've seen posts where people were saying the screen was pretty hard and they threw their phone in their pocket with keys and it never scratched.

To me the screen seems like pretty tough material, although it may give you the opposite impression as it kind of bends inward when using but the material itself seems like it's pretty tough.

Screen protectors

Well, I don't use a screen protector, but I'll tell you a story about a friend of mine who has an Elf (GSM version). He dropped his phone and it skidded across a gravel parking lot. He wasn't using a screen protector and it damaged his screen pretty bad. Technically, the surface of the screen is known as the digitizer (as opposed to the LCD beneath). It cost 90 dollars for a replacement digitizer , plus another 20 to have it installed. So, just a word to the wise to be careful. That being said, I don't use a screen protector, and I keep it in my pocket, but never with keys or anything else.

That's one good thing about the recessed screen on other phones, when I dropped both my 6700 and 6800 it damaged around the plastic above it but the screen was fine since it's way down in there.
I know the Touch will be toast if it happens again with it this time.

Thank goodness for Sprint and TEP, gotta love it
