You do realize this does not make any difference? A cell phone is not a land line so there is no "long distance" call. Is there a particular reason why you don't want the 1 in front of the number? All the Sprint phones I've ever had did this.

Mine puts 1 in front of local number and doesn't put 1 in front of LD numbers...am I missing something here??? (like a local area code maybe?)

it is an option in the phone settings, if you really care. it's a feature done because dialing without a 1 sometimes doesnt work and you get the message telling you to dial with 1, but dialing with 1 never brings an error.
If it bothers you, disable it by: start>settings>(personal tab)>Phone>(services tab)>Automatic Prepend>Disable. edit:damn, beaten to the punch |

First Thanks to all who replied! I didn't scroll down far enough thru those setting. I thought there where just the 4 to get settings for, oops. This setting is suppose to put the 1 infront of the numbers not in your area code, but mine puts it on my local area code. Just like jackojack's. Maybe there is another setting for local area code that I'm missing just like the one in contacts that automatically applies it when entering a new number. I had to change that from 425 to my local area code. Again Thanks to All, BOO

I'd like to keep that function as it is useful when dialing a long distance call but it's just not working like it should be...keeps putting 1 in front of random numbers...
