I've had mine since release day and it has not got sluggish at all. But I recently hard reset to cleanup from all the experiments I did and to hope it would fix opera mini from hanging (and so far, knock on wood, it has not hung on opera mini). Overall the phone is running great. I do run memmaid occasionally. I also use memmaid to get rid of some background junk.

I recently hard reset and reinstalled everything from scratch. I have about 15 programs installed; somehow I gained almost 40MB from the whole process! I went from 60 MB free to 96MB free. I don't understand how having the exact same programs installed could yield such different results. But, I had never hard reset in almost 2 months of use and I'm a big-time experiementer, so I'm sure there were some incomplete uninstallations. But 40MB? Very strange. ANd no, it wasn't IE or opera cache or anything obvious like that. Anyway, to address the thread topic, my phone was running well before the hard reset, and I can't tell a difference in performance after the hard reset. In short, this is the best smartphone I've ever owned (Palm or WM); it just RUNS. No soft resets, no lags, nothing. Couldn't be happier.

Whenever sluggishness happens to me, it is an email with a large attachment. Delete it and everything goes back to normal. Sometimes it is not an attachment but just an email that causes problems for some reason. You can forward them to another account and then delete them.

Give it a try. Can't hurt.
