[QUOTE=Musicman247;298025]
It will be coming. Soon. I hope. Any requests? Media page or no media page? What do you mean by media page? I wouldn't mind having the option to add more sides to the cube, to add more program links |

Re: Introducing the iCube
Well, iCube2 is here... kind of. Check my sig for MusicFlo. It's the program I've been writing. Not really the iCube2, it's a Cube replacement program that's using the icons I was going to use for iCube2. I think you'll like it, and it will be much easier to troubleshoot on my end. It should work on all Windows Mobile 6 Professional devices.

Re: Introducing the iCube
Is there any way (even a fairly hacky way) to get rid of the media page on the current version? Basically I like the S3 cube that has that gone, but I like the iCube's graphics and the fact that it displays a program name (S3 only supports icons from what I can tell). It'd be nice to be able to make a hybrid of the two. Musicman, I know you're sort of moving on to iCube2 (which I'll try out too at some point), so if I wanted to try to do it myself, would you mind, and would you have any tips?

Re: Introducing the iCube
You would need to tweak the Registry a little bit to get rid of the Media Page on iCube. I'll try and do a step by step. Everything is in the \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Biotouch root unless otherwise stated.
- in the \Biotouch dir, change the value of TotalCubes to 3 - in the \Biotouch dir, change the value of TotalBMP to 33 - in the \Biotouch dir, delete the value App2 (which should me MediaHubMini) and change the name of App3 to App2, and change App4 to App3 -in the \Biotouch dir, delete the binary Cube2 (your animation will be off no matter what you do, but this will seem a little less off) and rename Cube3 to Cube2 and Cube4 to Cube3 That should do it. Soft reset and you will now have a 3 sided iCube with a QuickDial and 2 App Launchers. |

Re: Introducing the iCube
Cool! Thanks! I'll play around with it! Also, I had been using iCube 1.11 with the old ROM, but just updated to the new unofficially official ROM and quickly learned I needed to use the newer iCube. Two issues:
- It's missing the carbon fiber icons for mail, though it's still configured to use them. I fixed this and would be happy to upload that. - One of the two 12-app sides has a several second delay when it's first loaded. It's the one with the comm manager, calendar, and tasks on the top row. The screen comes up right away with icons, but the text labels aren't there for a few seconds and it will appear to be for the most part frozen. The other 12-app side seems fine though. It seems to be just the first time or two it loads after a reset. I don't recall such a delay (or at least it wasn't as noticeable) with the older iCube 1.11 on the old ROM. Any thoughts? |

Re: Introducing the iCube
My guess is that since the second App Launcher is using an older version of APLauncher.exe (renamed APLauncher2.exe), it is not completely compatible with the new TouchFLo, so there is a latency.
Feel free to upload at your pleasure! Also, you might want to just change the names of the values that I said to delete in my previous post, that way if it messes it up (which it could) you can always change back. |

Re: Introducing the iCube
I think the delay on the initial viewing of the second app launcher is simply because it doesn't get preloaded at startup. BioTouch and APLauncher are both running after a boot, so if APLauncher is the one that drives the first app launcher page, that would explain why it comes up right away the first time you pull up the cube. But if the second cube side is being handled by CustAPLauncher, it has to load the first time you pull up the cube.
So, the question is, do you know any way to get CustAPLauncher loaded on startup as well? It looks like StartUPBiotouch.exe is what loads the cube. I'm assuming the old version didn't preload CustAPLauncher either, so I don't know why it's so much slower on the new ROM. But I would expect that if I could get it preloaded somehow, that'd solve my problems. -Brian |
