MUST Touch be activated to SYNC?

Got the HTC Touch today. *Cant' activate it until Fri according to Sprint.

I thought I'd get familiar with it and installed Outlook 2007 and attempted to sync it. *Actiivesync seems to recognize the connection but I get " Getting settings" forever.

I called support and was told the phone must be activated.

Anybody know for sure?

Shouldn't have to activate it. The HTC WM6 devices are a little fussy syncing.

Try reboots, reconnects and sometimes it magically works.

Also

Go to Start -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> USB to PC and disable Enhanced

Never heard of having to wait to activate it.
