Cube Icons Thread - Page 12

sorry to sound like a noob. where exactly are you finding icons to convert. i looked for a solitaire icon and any others for that matter. i cant reallt find any. im still trying to learn this. i wanna make icons like Polen did. so when i push them they look like they are gettng pushed down. thnx for all the hlep everyone, great forum!

I'm using Google Images and using the format Solitaire icons

I take that image and crop it down to what i want, then copy and paste it onto a background.

Budney suggested a website for icons. I'm sure there are others out there.
Polen's icons consist of two images: unpressed icon - dark background and icon shadow; pressed icon - lighter background, no icon shadow. Thus, the cool illusion (Polen, please correct me if I'm mistaken).

And do not forget the right dimensions for your icons. Have fun!

Polen's don't have a lighter background when pressed, the icon gets a little bit smaller and the shadow disappears giving the effect of it being pressed down.

ahh yes, i missed a few posts when reading the thred, silly me. i found some links and im gunna give this a shot. thnx for the help guys, im sure ill have more questions lol

okay, im back. i have an issue of quality when i select the brn for the cube. there is also a little black line under the cube button. here is a screenshot to see what im talking about. how do i make it smooth (could it be becuase im resizing the original png before i add it to the cube layer?) i tried with 2 icons and the same thing happend. please help!

****************EDIT:I FIXED THE ISSUE**********

what happend was that i was using the old bmp2brn. downloaded the converter from the XDA webpage and bingo. smooooth, so smooth... now i have to make tons and tons of icons, ill be posting them later on...
