Is there anyway to turn off the screen while streaming without loosing the connection?
I wanna do it to save battery because while streaming the battery gets drained real fast.
If you are using wmp you can set a hot key to toggle the screen on or off. Under menu-options buttons you can change it. This helped out the battery life quite a bit on my 700wx. It will still be a big drain since the data connection stays quite active.

GSPlayer

I turned my Sirius off and went to the GSPlayer 2.8 and Shoutcast for thousands of radio stations. GSPlayer is a freeware program and does a good job. I use a FM transmitter from walmart and play it through the car radio. I like it much better than Sirius. If you live in an EVDO area you can't beat it.

SiriusWM5 Support FAQ

Sorry, but you have to read this first :

************************************************** ******
Notice!

This is a free program and in no way circumvents Sirius's website or security. It simply bridges a gap. Smartphone web browsers don't support the scripting language and/or functions used by the website, so it is the same as if Microsoft updated their mobile browser to support it.

You still need to be a subscriber or sign up for a 3 day trial to listen.

All portions of this application portraying Trademarks or Images owned by Sirius are exclusive property of Sirius.

I accept no responsibility or liability for any issues arising from the use of this application. The end user assumes all responsibility and liability, including but not limited to device damage, data loss, and or data charges from their cellular provider.

If Sirius so demands, the end user is responsible for removing and discontinuing use of the application, not the author.

It is strongly suggested that you get an unlimited data plan with your cellular provider. We will not pay your data bill!

************************************************** ******

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. So... this application is free and I can listen to my Sirius Subscription with it, but what do I need to do and what user name and password do I use?

A. First, you sign on to your account online at https://home.sirius.com/webCUWI/ManageAccount.aspx
You may need to sign up/register first if you have never managed your account online. When you scroll to the bottom after signing in. You will see the option to add free internet streaming for each receiver you own. The user name and password you set for your streaming access is the one you will use for SiriusWM5.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How Do I Install The CAB File From The Current Release Thread?
A.

Installation Instructions:
  1. Click the CAB file attachment link (If it opens the file instead of saves it, i.e. you see files with names like SIRIUS~1.001, SIRIUS~1.000, _setup, right click save the link instead of left clicking.)
  2. Save the ENTIRE CAB file to your PC (Note the location.) DO NOT UNZIP THE CAB FILE.
  3. Connect your phone to your PC via ActiveSync.
  4. Select the explore button on ActiveSync.
  5. Copy the ENTIRE CAB file from your PC to your phone (DO NOT UNZIP THE CAB FILE,) noting the location on your phone.
  6. Open your phone's file explorer and go to where you saved the CAB file.
  7. Click on the CAB file to start the installation.
  8. Enjoy!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. The Application Seems to Work, But I don't Hear any Sound?
A. This Can Be Caused By Several Things:
  1. If you intend to use Windows Media Player, make sure the "Use TCPMP" option is unchecked on the Settings Page.
  2. If you intend to use TCPMP, make sure "Use TCPMP" is checked on the Settings Page.
  3. If you installed TCPMP to an add-on memory card, make sure "TCPMP On MemCard" is checked on the Settings Page.
  4. If you are trying to use Windows Media Player, make the the version of Media Player is 10 or higher. If it is not, install TCPMP .72 RC1 and check off the appropriate TCPMP options on the Settings Page.
  5. Make sure you do not have the phone set to silent, that the Windows Media/TCPMP volumes are up (they have independent volume controls,) and the device volume is up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I'm getting this error when trying to load any Sirius stream.
Player: Audio codec (Windows Media Audio) not supported by the player!

A. You may need the V9 Windows Media Codecs. Checkout this post: http://forums.geekstoolbox.com/showp...83&postcount=3

- courtesy of greggsymington

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How do I know what data plan to use and what media player to use?
A. First of all, any Data Plan you use Must be UNLIMITED to avoid a big bill.

T-Mobile:
If you have a PDA phone and are using T-Zones or another Standard Phone/SMARTPHONE UNLIMITED plan and are encountering problems streaming:
1 - To use Windows Media player, you must un-check the proxy (for most people as different markets' proxy servers may filter differently.)
2 - You can use TCPMP WITHOUT un-checking the proxy (your best solution.)

3 - You can upgrade to a PDA type UNLIMITED data plan.
Cingular:
If you have a PDA phone and are using MediaNet or SmartPhone UNLIMITED plan and are encountering problems streaming:
1 - To use Windows Media player, you must un-check the proxy (for most people as different markets' proxy servers may filter differently.)
2 - You can use TCPMP without un-checking the proxy (your best solution.)
3 - You can upgrade to the PDA connect UNLIMITED data plan. There are no known issues with Smartphones and WMP10 (i.e. 3125, 2125, SMT5600, etc.) with MediaNet / Smartphone UNLIMITED data plans.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How many logins per day am I allowed by Sirius?
A. 1 login is used any time you need to perform the captcha image validation. 10 logins per 24 hour period are allowed per subscriber username. If you have 3 radios, you can set up a streaming account for each which will allow you 30 logins. Once you use the 10 logins in a 24 hour period for a particular user, you will need to change the username and password to the next unused streaming account.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I keep getting connection failed after I enter the Captcha image code and click OK. I know my user name and password is correct, and I know I entered the Captcha image correct (case sensitive.) What the heck?
A. There have been instances where a user name and/or password with mixed upper and lowercase will fail from the mobile client.
  1. Log into your account on Sirius.com.
  2. Change the streaming user name and password (not your account login user name and password) making both all lower case.
  3. Save the changes and log off.
  4. Close your browser.
  5. Update the user name and password settings in SiriusWM5 and click save.
  6. Close SiriusWM5.
  7. Re-Open SiriusWM5 and try again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. My connection keeps dropping after a certain amount of time.
A. Make sure your data settings are setup properly according to your cellular provider and device type. Cingular's device settings are attached in PDF format to this FAQ. Once you have verified your data connection settings, change "Idle disconnect after:" to "None" in Settings>Data Connections>Menu>Options

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. What does SiriusWM5 look like?
A.
