just to add something here. It does not seem to be related at all to the battery. Mine has done it on low battery, medium battery, and full charge. It happens sporatically, and yes, a soft reset takes care of the issue for some time. I go days without an issue. And then all of a sudden the phone quits waking up.

I believe it has a direct link to running programs and/or programs installed on storage card and running on the today screen. Example: A laptop and ppc's have powersaving modes if a laptop powers down to save battery even thou you try and wake it up the progams that are running in the background have to start first before you can access anthing on the desktop. So now the PPC's (and yes they pretty much all share this problem), when they power down depending on your polling cycle (how many rings before the phone actually tries to turn on) other programs are trying to start first, programs trying to wake up storage card to run and interupting the phone call/text/email. By the time all this takes place the phone ran out of rings and goes straight to voicemail. If you take great care in shutting down all programs running in the background and not loading homescreen programs on the storage card you will find out this will not happen as often. It will still happen at times in poor signal areas, because you may only get 1 or no rings in these times. Hope this helps, BOO

It has nothing to do with the polling cycle. I can set the slot cycle to 0 and still get calls that don't ring or ring a half ring before going to voicemail. That's with no programs running in the background.

It's just another WM6 bug.

Not a WM6 thing either. It did the same thing on my PPC6700 (WM5) and my MotoQ also WM5.

Just a WM bug then. Can't say that I'm surprised.

I think it is obvious from an analysis of the reports in this thread that the problem is an HTC Rom bug related to their power saving settings. The issue occurs so inconsistently across all types of software configurations and installations for it to be caused by software. The only logical conclusion (epecially considering the response from HTC directly raising the possibility of a bug) is that the problem is caused by a ROM bug at the BIOS level. Therefore the only chance for a solution will come from many reports reaching the ears of HTC, persuading them into releasing an update.

Unfortunately, HTC doesn't care about fixing bugs. They never have and I doubt that they ever will. A more likely option is that an end user will be able to fix the bug and cook it into a new ROM.

My girlfriend's phone does this and she was reading and I guess its similar to a designed feature where when the phone battery gets critical it goes into a quasi airplane mode where it intentionally shuts off the radio in sleep mode and only checks when you push the power button.

Hers also does odd things with the battery meter. Maybe its getting confused and thinking its battery is critical, is there a way to disable this feature to see if that has an affect.

all i can say for sure is that its definately not a battery issue or a power saving technique.. ive had this happen today while at 100 percent, and it was on the charger.. but my problem was i didnt get a voicemail notification, any texts messages period, or any missed calls.. it jus woke up fine and then when i spoke to my gf she told me how she called and texted me numerous times and was getting worried. i didnt ave any missed calls or any voicemail noticifations but sure enough when i checked my voicemail, i had a new one from her. this is extremely aggrivating, especially since i have yet to receive the missing text messages she claims that she sent
