drop down contact list in text messaging is missing

for some reason my touch doesn't have the drop down contact list when i start typing a name in the "to" line of a text message. my mogul had it out of the box but iirc i had to edit the registry to get in on my 6700. is there a setting or registry hack for this?

its diff on the touch. if you use the touch keyboard and start typing a name in the TO: feild you will notice that a lil bit above the touch keyboard it will start giving you suggestions and if you hit the d pad right it will go thru all possible options based on what you started typing. The touch ketyboard also goes to the abc mode when you are in the TO: field so that it is easier for you to put in names. hope that helps

i realized the drop down list works fine...just not with aftermarket keyboards.
