Instead of formatting the card, has anyone just tried to use raw storage? I've been lucky enough to avoid any memory card corruption as of yet and I think it's because I didn't format it.

What the heck is raw storage? The card comes pre-formatted, and I don't think you can write to any storage device without formatting a partition.

That being said, I formated my card to FAT16. It's been about a week without any problems. Doesn't mean anything perhaps, as it's gone that long before and still developed problems. Still, keeping my fingers crossed.

Figured I would chime in.
Had the touch since it came out. One day my files were jibberish on the 512 card. Camera also had "lines" in it so I took it back. Got a new touch. Had it happen again. Got a 4 gig transend card, happened again. Returned card and got another 4 gig. Did it again with a twist.
I was at supercross taking pics and I couldnt view them. I looked in the folder and there was nothing in the DCIM folder. I could not erase the folder or anything. I would take a pic and it would not store in the card. Then I renamed the folder DCIM (all it would let me do) and then it worked again but my previous 15 pics were gone.
Now the other day I could click on the mail messenging or text messenging buttons and they highlight but wont open. Also I cant recieve texts. Pop out the card and then it works.
Put my 512 back in for now since I missed a lot of texts.

I lose media files, some end up in temp file, not sure why, maybe was going to mail them. I cannot save any videos or pics to card. Music transfers, saves and plays fine. I was planning to get a 6 or 8 gig card so I haven't loaded any progs on it. Now I am not sure if I will get a new card if it will be useless.

DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had the phone for 4 months and never had a problem with the SD card and now after a lockup and soft reset the card is corrupted. Tried all suggestions here and no luck. I guess it is time to start from scratch again. I was wanting to do a hard reset anyway to get rid of any junk that might be left after I've unistalled something. I was hoping to wait until the promised update came out though.

My thoughts on the corruption may be caused by the fact that the side cover never really closes all the way after a card is inserted. And that if pressure is applied to that side of the phone, the card may temporarily shift inside the slot causing a data or poer interuption. If this happens while the card is being written to than it could cause the corruption. Just a thought.

looks like I may need to go to a sprint store =[... after my card corrupted one day it stopped recognizing that the card was in the phone... moved the card over to my roommate's Samsung SYNC (SGH-A707) and it was able to read just about everything I remember being on there... moved the card back to my phone and still not recognizing that it's inserted... SDIO port fried?

neither pocket mechanic nor the phone can see the card either... even after a hard-reset... guess I'll have to go to the sprint store and swap the phone out
