No applications installed to the SD, only TomTom maps. Nothing in email (or anywhere else) that accesses the card. Soft reset after every use of TomTom (which does access the card), and although rare, I still get corruption once in a great while.... |

i have had my touch for a month and a half, no SD corruption yet... is the card maybe slipping out? did the phone get dropped, or bonked...?

It is a known issue. It has nothing to do with the card slipping out, phone being dropped or "bonked". |

I have had this problem happen three times now. Each time a Hard reset fixes it but it seems to come back. I dont ever have anything delete but my messaging services quit wokring. So if I take the card out then my messaging begins working again. I am hoping there will be a fix for this, it is becoming annoying.

Yeah. Don't save email attachments to the card and don't put the PIE cache on the card. I haven't had a single corruption after I stopped turning off the screen with the power button when using A2DP in CorePlayer. Now I just blank the screen from within CorePlayer. The problem is caused by the phone going into sleep mode while accessing the card.

Re: SD card corrupt?
Everything in my Program Files folder on my 4GB card got erased last weekend and so I finally decided to take the opportunity and flash a clean WM6.1 ROM. Unfortunately just now everything on my card got erased except the Program Files folder (???). I don't store emails on my card, nor did I store anything that needed to be accessed on the card after my rom update (I installed everything onto main memory).
After the phone crash (froze) while I almost finished a sudoku game in Brain Evolution, I button reset it and the corruption occured. Strange thing is, as I mentioned above, everthing except the Program Files folder got erased. |
