The reality is we can all comment on this thread, however, I believe it is very clear there is a huge user base that used this hack and has a use for PicMail. If this weren't the case this thread, and all the other ones on the forum, would not have so many replies, pages, etc.
Does it suck that Sprint blocked the HACK? Yes. But hack is the key word here, I had a 700wx, a Mogul and a Touch... and I have always known that this feature was not included and purchased the device. You are the consumer and you hold the key with your wallet. The user that posted about returning 3 Touch's and 2 Mogul's has the right idea. Always get some backup, if you bought the phone from a store and an employee told this was included, then get their name or business card. We as users and consumers cannot rely on hacks for making a decision, we all had 30 days to test the device. If you kept the device after the 30 days because the hack was available, then that's your responsibility. It's like being upset about having kept an iPhone because of custom firmware that was later blocked. We all have our opinions, and I agree... I do not feel our devices should be lacking MMS because they are business phones. That statement is ignorant at the least, but once again, we all had 30 days to test the device. I'm not taking Sprint's side, but as consumers and users we cannot take these types of attitudes because they won't help us get anywhere. Those are my .02 cents... you may not agree, or you may agree, but as members of this community that's what we do, share opinions and respect each other's opinions.

I agree with Pibe38.. Can someone now write the fix that sends it to 555-555-5555@urcarier.com program that sends it to all the know carrier prefixes.. I knew that we didn't have true mms.. no its not that big a deal that we don't have it...its just quicker to send out funny crap to friends phones...The question we should all be asking is WHY they don't even offer it. I mean it was working so why not actually offer it.. to their customers.. I pay to for unlimited tether so why not this.
I just hope I don't have to resort to this Sprint: Sprint CEO's Phone Number, And 25 Other Sprint Execs' I mean doesn't everyone have to spend at least an hour a month on the phone with sprint...I mean my bill is screwed up almost every month... they always have to end up crediting me for something... sheesh we shouldn't even have to have this conversation. it should be offered damn this crap is annoying... |

Is there anyway to merge all of the MMS Sprint threads into one, it is really annoying to have to repost info in different ones because people don't read them all?

Re: Updated: 02/05 - NO LONGER WORKING on Sprint - Real Picture Mail (PicMail, MMS)
So it's been a while since I've checked up on this thread but as far as I remember no one really got much of an answer from sprint about the bs. If this is already on here forgive me. This is the response I got from sprint;
"Thank you for contacting Sprint. We apologize for any inconvenience. The Pocket PC phones (such as the HTC Touch you have) do not have a software interface for sending picturemail to phone numbers. There was a third party picturemail software interface made by "ArcSoft" that was being distributed via the Internet. This third party software is likely how you were sending picturemails to phone numbers on the Touch. Unfortunately, that software was illegally pirated from a rival cell phone carrier's Windows Mobile phone model and reconfigured for Sprint. As such, for legal reasons we were forced to block it. Please be advised that blocking the pirated software fix was not only to avoid legal action against Sprint, but to avoid a situation where legal action might force Sprint to terminate the service of users of said pirated software (some of whom were likely not aware it was pirated software). At this time, we do not have a method to send picturemails from a Pocket PC device besides email. We apologize again for any inconvenience. Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business. Robert H. E-Care Sprint" So yeah there it is |

Re: Updated: 02/05 - NO LONGER WORKING on Sprint - Real Picture Mail (PicMail, MMS)
Its surprising that they would block the 3rd party app and forget about it rather than trying to work to incorporate similar software into their own system. It seems this is something that they could market in their software downloads section OR better yet, include in the next ROM update.

Since Sprint's servers somehow must recognize that its coming from the MMS hack, I wonder if there's a way for them to act like its coming from a Fusic or some other non-PDA phone. I know you can do that kind of stuff with User-Agents in browsers, but I have no idea how that MMS hack actually worked.
