Re: Registry Tweaks/Hacks/Edits - Share them here!

Is there a way to turn off the long press end function? I have ae button pluss installed, but it's still popping up the quick menu.

eh well you could of course always flash it and not include the long press end key function.

EDIT: give this a try, HKLM\Software\OEM\EPST
DisableMSLEndKey. Try setting it to 0 (should be set to 1 now?) and see what that does for you.

EDIT2: try HKLM\Software\OEM\Keybd
LongPressEndKeySetting. Try fiddling with that.

EDIT3 (): try HKLM\Software\HTC\LongPressEndKey
and try messing with AutoExecute in there.

simple search of the registry does the trick

Eeek...
Let's not bring logic to the table. I never thought about searching the registry.
JJ

Edit...
Your edit2 was the only entry (of the three) that was there. Fiddling with it didn't do much.
I added the other two and messed with them and didn't do much, either.

If you can not include it with a new build, can't you just remove the dlls or something from the current build?

Hey sorry man, all of those entries were there for me. And yes I'm sure you could do that but...unfortunately I'm not sure which files those would be. And of course they would be in ROM so it could be tricky editing them.

Step 1: Get an awesome powerful file explorer utility like resco or total commander.
Step 2 Download ppckitchen oem, find long press endkey oem, and look inside to see what files you can find (also be sure to look in the rgu file for reg entries).
Step 3 Find all of the files in the oem and delete them anywhere you can find them on your device.

Also idk if you searched the device yourself, but that would of course be a good idea.

Good luck!
Jim.

Make Your PocketPC Faster

Open your registry editor on your Pocket PC
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 16384… or even to 32768 for a faster setting but eats up more memory
4. Close registry editor and soft reset.

HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS

I changed the CacheSize key from 0 to 8192 and it seems to have sped up my ppc.
when i tried this it wouldnt let me change the value! it said access denied. i can re write other values, just not in that folder...... any suggestions???

Re: Registry Tweaks/Hacks/Edits - Share them here!

Does anybody know of a way to make it so that touchflo3/manilla2d appears in different colors? For example making it look like the touchflo on the sprint touch diamond?

Re: Registry Tweaks/Hacks/Edits - Share them here!

for limit sms recipients can't you just delete that entire key to accomplish the same thing? the only reason i ask is because i checked for it and could'nt find that value. i think i chose the option to get rid of the text limits by using a third party reg edit ap (advanced config or something) it must have either deleted that value altogether or that value wasn't a part of my wm 6.1 upgrade. anyone know?

Camera Filename

Is there a way to change the filename of camera pictures to something like YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.jpg or something?
I never had a problem with imagexxx.jpg before, but I just went through and deleted a bunch of pictures and then installed a new rom. Now it's putting new pictures in the middle of old pictures, because there are openings in the sequence.

Yes there is. I use this regedit to prevent the same problem. You'll beed to set it up in the camera settings as well.
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\General

Ok...
I saw the Filename in registry, but I didn't realize there was something that I had to do in camera.
JJ

Edit...
Bah...
I just looked in the camera help and it says that if the storage card is used, you cannot override the file name. As tested, "default" is the only prefix available.
