thanks, but now i dont care too much anymore. if someone else wants to try it and report back, great, but...if the difference isnt big enough to notice with two handhelds side by side then...its prob not worth much.

Don't use memmaid or sktools to optimize your device. Instead do it by hand. I agree with you, when I used sktools I NEVER noticed a difference. Now, after hard resetting my device and then reading this ENTIRE thread and entering any and all performance tweaks I could find I would say that my Touch is at least 20% faster than it was out of the box.

It very may be my optimism. It could be a placebo effect from reading that it increases speed and so I just think it's moving faster. I'm not talking about speeding up the whole device and making programs run faster, I mean the OS itself just seems to be snappier and if I leave the programs running instead of closing them after use, everything seems to move much quicker. 100% of the tweaks I did are here in this thread scattered throughout it and 90% of those are cache tweaks.

I spent ages trying to get this freakin' tweak to work and I finally succeeded. The problem all along was using Resco editor for me. Once I tried PHM regedit is worked immediately. I don't know why this was the case for me but it was. I have read some people saying to set the dword value to 1 but you are not creating a "dword value." You have to create a "string value" as is stated above. Hope this saves some people some time and frustration.

Re: Registry Tweaks/Hacks/Edits - Share them here!

Is there anyway to make an app run as soon as the phone loads?

I don't use my today screen at all, I use GoodWin instead and would like to not have to load it manually everytime.

Re: Registry Tweaks/Hacks/Edits - Share them here!

"How to get rid of the DCIM folder and have pictures stored to your storage card under \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures:

1. Open up the camera, and press on the 3 bars on the lower right. That should open up the options. The last option will let you pick either main memory, storage card, and bluetooth. hChoose Storage Card and it ok to save. Pictures seemed to be save under \storage card\dcim\100media.

2. To change the path of the saved pictures and video to \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures, edit the registry:
HKLM\software\htc\camera\General
- change EnableDCIM from 1 to 0.

Now your pictures will be stored in \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures

The problem is the Camera Album won't recognize\My Documents\My Pictures
Rename to \My Documents\_My Pictures
Then in the registry for the camera, have is save to _My Pictures instead of My Pictures"

This doesn't work!!! I can not get my camera album to recognize where my pics are.
I think I am confused at the end of the instructions:
"Rename to \My Documents\_My Pictures
Then in the registry for the camera, have is save to _My Pictures instead of My Pictures"

My take on this was to make a file on my storage card to \My Documents\_My Pictures... well I did just that and nothing happens. So I mess around and take a picture with my vogue and where does it go? to My Pictures (prev. created by me ) on storage card not _My Pictures hope this helps!!
