Use Touch Commander with Sampsons WM5 Rom on Mogul

If you are torn between the Mogul and the HTC Touch try this fix.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download the Sampson Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341977)
and Touch Commander ($15 retail at http://www.touch-commander.com/)

I am getting 22 Megs free and with Touch Commander running 16-17 Megs free. No out of memory issues and the memory stays stable all day. Unless HTC worked a miracle with WM6 or downgraded the Touch to WM5 you will have memory issues with the HTC Touch.

Also able to run memory intensive apps like Picsel (PPCGeeks version ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....browserSC1.cab )

I think I ma gonna switch from Titan (Mogul) to Touch. The weight and size difference is enough for me to switch

You are aware the Touch has twice as much memory don't you? ...

I read that the memory in the Touch is DDR not SDRAM like in the Mogul. Someone posted the features list from the owners manual and it said 128MB DDR.

DDR = Double Data Rate. DDR is a type of SDRAM.

I just looked at the spec sheet comparing the two and both use SDRAM.

DDR is still SDRAM.

Sorry, I should have been more descriptive. Touch has DDR SDRAM not just plain SDRAM. The ram is faster.

I've only seen a few documents that say this, most specs just say 128MB ram.

I found this in the Sprint Touch Owners Manual page 172 off of HTC's website.

Quote:
Processor Qualcomm MSM7500, 400MHz
Memory
ROM : 256 MB NAND
RAM : 128 MB DDR
(Figures are the total ROM and RAM memory available for use and storage. Since the memory is shared by the Operating System, applications, and data, the actual available memory is less than what is written.)
Operating SystemWindows Mobile® 6 Professional
And this in the Mogul, Owners manual

Quote:

Processor
QUALCOMM® MSM7500, 400 MHz
Memory
ROM : 256 MB embedded NAND Flash
RAM : 64 MB SDRAM
(Figures are the total ROM and RAM memory available for use and storage. Since the memory is shared by the Operating System, applications, and data, the actual available memory is less than what is written.)
