This happened to me for the first week I had my touch. Every morning I would wake up to a frozen phone, screen off. It ended up being my email syncing. In the email storage options there is a checkbox that allows for attachments to be stored on the minisd. I unchecked this so that attachments go to main memory and haven't had a freeze up since. I use windows live mail but I think the attachment storage option applies for any email account.

We all have to remember these devices will freeze every now and then, after all, they are MS computers

However, if you feel your device has gone over that allowance, then you should consider contacting Sprint for a replacement.

I want to ask how many of you guys have "waterwave" on your touch screen when pressing it. Mine does and I'm thinking if I should go ahead exchange it. People in xda-developers found out that 5 out of 6 touch he has owned got this problem (I believe it's the GSM European version which was released half a year ago).

The problem is basically you can see water wave like brightness change when press the screen. This is normal on non-touch LCD but touch screen should not have it. My friend's 6700 and my old mogul don't have it, no matter where you press it, the brightness is constant and no "water wave".

This is how it looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4IfcwUWcPE

Here is the original thread FYI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343821

BTW, mine was manufactured on 10/27/07, if you have or don't have this problem, can you identify the production date please? I wonder if it's related to the earlier batch defects. Thanks.

Looks like it is the task manager that is causing the refusing to come out of sleep problems for most people. I would try turning it off.

Angry

I am now on my second Touch in a week. I took my week old Touch to the service center to complain about the battery life. I would get up in the morning (5:30am) after a full night of charging. By 9am it would be down to 50% power. This is with very limited use during this time period. By the time I get home it is dead. When I plug it in to my car charger it is such a slow charge it does not help.

The service center checked it and gave me a brand new one. Today it is doing the same thing. Anybody else have this problem? I can't keep this up. It is so frustrating.

There must be something you are doing, a setting or something like that. My battery lasts much longer than that.

Give us specifics... e-mails accounts and how often they are checked, apps that may access data/internet, etc.

I have this issue and my manufacturing date is 10/24/07. I'm debating whether or not to take it to a service center to see if they will let me swap it out for another one. The problem is I don't think they're going to let me check every Touch in the store to find one that doesn't have the issue.

Has anybody figured a way to disable/turn off the predictive text black bar? I am using a ThinkOutside bluetooth keyboard that doesn't work right unless the keyboard menu is activated by tapping the keyboard button at the bottom/middle of the screen. If this menu is not listed, the spacing gets messed up (for exampe its tarts lookingl ike this). I would rather just have it disabled since I am using the FITALY onscreen keyboard and can get 40WPM without the predictive text slowing things down.
