You could definitely try the steps in that link that Reddog posted but it may be hard to get Verizon to activate it. Maybe the ESN is marked somehow in the system like whitey said. If that is the case then whatever you do you won't be able to use the radio for phone or data.

You probably do not want to hear this but you can not do this legally. VZ will not activate phones that are not branded VZ.

Again this is not legal, against VZ policy.

Well, when I talked to the tech "specialist", he said that they can activate phones, but it would just not be worth it. I gave him the example of the vogue, and he said that it would would give an error saying "not in system" and therefore you wouldn't be able to do so. Even if technology is the same (CDMA), but there are restrictions based on software and in the phone itself.
-this is on behalf of a VZW "Tech"

i spoke to him when i was switching phones.

I apologize for not reading. But I talked to a lady in verizon in June(ish), and they said I could flash a phone. But i guess policies have changed.
