Alltel MP6900 to VZW?
 

I have a Alltel MP6900 with a clean ESN but it will NOT activate on VZW and VZW says it errors with a Alltel restriction and they wont activate it.

Can I flash this phone to a VZW VX6900 rom and then activate it?

I'm new to this and have no idea how to get this phone working on a VZW network.

(I've flashed my Omnia to unlock GPS and etc ebfore so I know how to do that)

Yes, you can flash it yourself.

If you don't want to flash to a custom rom then you can just flash the stock shipped Verizon rom:

yeah you can.
i was just on the phone with the vzw tech staff. said you couldn't flash phones from other carriers, but its bs. you can... as horndoctor said before. codybear's faq is your best friend. :)

Once it is flashed will it stop erroring out during the activation process?

Is it erroring in the VZW system or on the phone.
If it's in their system then a new ROM will not change that!
If it's the phone or during *228 then it might work with a new ROM.

It errors when activating it online at VZW and using *228. I even tried *22800, 01 and etc.

No luck even after flashing to a new vzw stock rom.

Anything else I can do?

You could definitely try the steps in that link that Reddog posted but it may be hard to get Verizon to activate it. Maybe the ESN is marked somehow in the system like whitey said. If that is the case then whatever you do you won't be able to use the radio for phone or data. :(

You probably do not want to hear this but you can not do this legally. VZ will not activate phones that are not branded VZ.

Again this is not legal, against VZ policy.
