Well, when I talked to the tech "specialist", he said that they can activate phones, but it would just not be worth it. I gave him the example of the vogue, and he said that it would would give an error saying "not in system" and therefore you wouldn't be able to do so. Even if technology is the same (CDMA), but there are restrictions based on software and in the phone itself.

I did not say it is not possible for them to do...as a policy VZ nor Sprint will not do it.

I apologize for not reading. But I talked to a lady in verizon in June(ish), and they said I could flash a phone. But i guess policies have changed.

It used to be you could have ESN's of other carriers devices added to Verizon's database, as long as they met certain requirements and were approved. Once they took over Alltel, all existing Alltel ESN's were added to the Verizon database, but in such a way that they cannot be used on a Verizon account, only on acquired Alltel accounts.

Alot of people used to do this with the Alltel touch pro, because the Verizon version was crippled, but they were no longer able to do this after the acquisition was complete.
