To check Metro coverage go to http://www.metropcs.com/coverage/ or call 1.888.8metro8. Then yes activate and then flash the custom ROM. After that you will need to set-up MMS/WAP. There are cabs for MMS/WAP and carrier cabs. that you may need to use.

or i would just go to metropcs.com and they should have a signal locator (i know vzw and att and tmobile do)

A carrier cab is an easy way to set data provisioning /internet access for the carrier you are using for service by installing 1 self installing cab file. In your case for metro.
Here is a nice guide for flashing the Vogue to metro on howard forums:

Seems like a good guide. I would read it through a few times to absorb everything.

ok guys once again thank you so much for all the information. i have one last question which might be stupid but im gonna ask anyways: if i set-up MMS/WAP do i still have to pay the monthly fee for it?
