htc touch for metro PCS
 

Hey guys im new here and really lost. So i want to buy an HTC touch(sprint version) and activate it to work with my metro pcs account. I have a few questions before i buy it. 1). what does reflashing do? 2). how do i activate it to work with my number after reflashing? 3) i guy in my area makes turn by turn gps work on this phone without paying a monthly fee can you guys help me do that? thank you in advance for your help

lets see.
1) If you reflash it, it allows any carrier to use service (provided its CDMA) meaning, you could have it to metro, sprint, verizon bell... etc.
2) All you have to do is call up your provider and they'll usually have step by step directions on how to get your phone onto their service. ALternatively, you could just you into the store and have them flash it.
3) if you want standalone GPS, follow this guide.

Flashing is basically the term used to describe altering/upgrading the Read Only Memory (ROM) on a device like the vogue. You could take your device to a metro dealer and have them flash it or you can do it yourself. Let me know if you want to or have to do it yourself and I can give you some links to help you. Sometimes the people at the dealer don't really know what they are doing so you may have to do it yourself anyway. As far as gps, your vogue does have internal gps so you can certainly get turn by turn directions although that will depend on which application you use to give you those directions. There are some freeware apps like Microsoft bing that will give you directions and track you with gps and give you audible tones when and where you are supposed to turn completely free of charge. If you want spoken directions then you may have to pay for the app initially . Hope that helps! Good Luck !! :)

i need help I'm a cricket customer so I went on ebay and bought a htc touch 6900 and the guys said he flashed it to work with cricket. So i got it and it does nto work come to find out it wont work in a triband are which im in...is there a way to make this work???? HELLLPPPP

Make sure that you are not in MetroPCS's AWS market such as Las Vegas, NV.

hey guys thanks for all your help but what is MetroPCS's AWS market? if i activate my phone then reflash my phone to the NFSFAN ROM do i have to go in and get it activated again?

Well, the AWS market operates on different frequencies than those that the cdma vogue operates on so you can't activate and use the cdma touch/vogue on those networks.
If you want to flash to nfsfan's rom you may have to set your network provisioning up again. If you decide that you want to flash a custom rom like nfsfan's you should never go back to the retailer for tech help without flashing back to stock first. If they see you have a custom rom on it they will most likely tell you that is the problem and tell you that they need to put the stock rom on it for it to work. Or they may refuse to activate it for warranty issues.

Metro has allot of AWS spectrum to check coverage contact Metro or check the Metro website. Once you have your ESN in metro's system you will not need to activate it again.

how can i find out if West Sacramento is in the aws spectrum? and so i should go activate it first THAN reflash it?
