Re: (ROM) 1/24 build 23619 CHICK'N Post #2 post 3 PhatBoy+m2d

Woop, the problem im having now is that it won't stay connected. I tried flashing back to stock and running the IOTA, then reflashed chicken, and phatboy. The chicken rom downloads quick, but the connection only last for about 5mins or so then it disconnects. Any idea what that could be. I got the check boxes off for the turn phone off after so many minutes.

I tried that too, even with the data set to always on, it keeps disconnected from the internet. I'm going to try to flash back to one of his previous roms he posted. Can't think of the name of it but it was back on 1/4/2010.

The 1/4/2010 rom works. Just the newer roms won't keep a connection, while tethering.

Re: (ROM) 1/24 build 23619 CHICK'N Post #2 post 3 PhatBoy+m2d

It is not the rom that is causing the problem. It is Windows Vista and 7. I was dual booting before 7 and Linux and Linux would keep the connection on alot longer than 7 and Vista, although even Linux would disconnect about once a hour. I got rid of Linux and now I have XP dual booting with 7 and I had my connection tether all night long in XP with no drop or disconnect. It was still working this morning. I recommend XP if you want to keep a constant connection while tethering.

I don't know why that would be it. Woops older roms work just fine, just these 2 newer roms, don't want to stay connected. Even when I'm using the internet on the phone it keeps disconnecting.

I tried 3 different roms, NFSFan, vin, and wooptie's and all had the same problems with disconnect while tethering. The only thing that fixed it was going to an operating system other than Vista or 7. Maybe try one of these "safe" registry files for Windows 7 blackviper.com/Windows_7/registry.htm They disable services you might not use. I think a service in 7 and Vista is causing it.

I'm using nagrom's rom now with windows 7 and it works without any problems, but it doesn't have the speed that woop's rom's have. Hopefully Woop will get it figured out, like I said his rom dated 1/4/2010 works fine too, but doesn't have the speed that his latest 2 roms have.

Talking Re: (ROM) 1/24 build 23619 CHICK'N Post #2 post 3 PhatBoy+m2d

OK... Now i've also had the frustrating disconnect problem with vista and 7 with several roms. I thought at first it had something to do with ActiveSync because even if i shut AS down, it started back up again the exact time i got a disconnect. So i completely disabled it. It appeared to work for a bit, then it disconnected again.

Then i realized that my bandwidth connections in vista and 7 were set really high for some reason (50-100) so i set it down to 30. And voila it runs all night now. I think that if the TCP port gets overloaded with too many connections, it resets and disconnects.
Just my theory anyways...

ACKKKK! i flashed to PHATBOY + M2D build (Brack21 request filled)
23619 today using the SDCARD VOGUIMG flash and all that my phone would do is show the HTC logo screen and lock up. Tryed to reflash a few times, and factory flash but the phone was stuck. Had to wait till tonight to get on my PC at home and fix the problem with the chicken flash. Don't know what happened... maybe my download was corrupt or something.
