Re: [ROM][Updated 9/25/09]NagROM[WM6.5.1 Build 23053][V0.8 & V2.8]

There is a good chance MS is getting away from button mapping being built in. There are so many other button mapping apps that are better and let you map all the buttons and multiple presses of each button that I would never use MS's built in functionality. I would not be surprised to see MS ditch it. Try using MobileMagic. It lets you map all the buttons as well as long press, short press, x2 presses and x 3 presses.

I just uploaded a zip file with almost all of the programs that I used on my Vogue. Let me know if you have any questions about any of them. I hope you find them useful.

nagrom, I see you have flashlight in your cabs, how does this work on the vogue?

Nevermind, I tried it out and its pretty neat.

Nagrom with mobilemagic, can u set a button to do file explorer. I noticed in this lastest build the camera button can't even be mapped to the camera. I'm sure MS should still have the camera button?

Yes, MobileMagic can map any button to anything. It is one of the greatest programs for phones ever. Works with G-Sensor too on newer phones.

Is any1 else experiencing the same problems as me in new 0.8 rom? MS has changed something.
I've istalled Showaco cHome editor, when i tried to Open I get a message:
The file 'CHomeEditor' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found.

Same message i get when i try to open Birt iContact config exe.

Did i miss something?

What's good reg editor for WIN(deskctop)? I tried to use CeRegEditor, but for some reason everything is locked, i can't edit any keys.

Well, it appears that I lied. MobileMagic allows you to map all buttons BUT the camera button lol. Sorry brack21...

Have you installed the sdkcert.cab file or something to remove the certificate security? That is what causes this problem.

I used TouchPal always with my Vogue (though the newest releases of EzInput are finally good). With my TP2 the built in keyboard is better than anything I've found.

This is interesting guys. I've been testing more too and it does seem like the sdkcerts.cab isn't working correctly anymore. I also use Advanced Configuration and SKTools to remove the security message and I wonder if one of those is working correctly and the cab isn't and that is why I don't get the problems you guys are getting.

Would some, or all, of you try removing the security settings using SKTools or Advanced Config (or both) and tell me if that fixes things?

I did a test of my own. I hard reset and tried only installing sdkcerts and it DOES NOT WORK! If you use Advanced Config OR SKTools and disable the security certs through either of those programs, all the problems with installing and running stuff should be fixed.

I have never had the problem with the disappearing stuff on my storage card, so I don't know what to say.

the sd card thing is extremely annoying but i have seen other people complain about it in the past few builds so must be MS up to something....i remember this happening when everyone started using 6.1 too...

Nagrom, I have installed V2.8 and love what you have done here. My one problem is that a couple of my applications that I have purchased require a registration key tied to the Owner Name. There is no option to change or enter the owner name in settings. Can this be done by editing the registry? If so, where would I find it.

Thanks for all your work!=D>

Ya, it seems to be random. One thing you might try is removing your microsd, putting it in a card reader, and reformat it. That is the one thing I know i have done that not everyone has done. Maybe that is why mine works. (Make sure you backup your files first)

I mapped Volume Up x3 and that worked. Unfortunately, it does mess with Volume Up... (Make sure you reset after applying it and make sure Mobile Magic is running. Another button mapping program I know of is AEButton (but I haven't used it).

Yeah, that is another thing MS screwed up.

In the meantime, remove the "Redirect" value in the following registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner] Or just enter your own info there.

I'm liking the new build ("2.8") but...

I'm running into a few apps that cannot be launched. For example camera2 gives this error: "The file 'Camera' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found."
I do have sdkcerts.cab installed... :(

Finally after searching for a couple of hours i've found the problem.

When i installed Advanced Config, i COULDN'T even run it, i was getting the same message (...Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found...)

Here's the FIX, you need to install .Net Compact Framework 3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...9-0041345b3385

1.Download it to your PC.
2. Establish an ActiveSync connection, and run the MSI (NETCFSetupv35.msi). The framework will then get installed on your device.

Both 23060 and 23420 are messed up. I'll see if I can get a decent ROM with them, but no guarantees.

Also, CDODGE over at XDA found a potential fix to some of the issues you guys are having with the SD Card stuff. If you disable the power management for the SD card it seems to fix the issues. You can do the disable with Advanced Config.

I enjoyed playing with the 23053 for a few days but I'll have to go back to 23016 as I couldn't seem to get it to flight mode without pulling the battery. Using exchange email, it would often hang when trying to pull a name from my contact list and I couldn't send e-mail although receiving worked like a charm (it just wanted to put everything in draft, it isn't a password thing it is a send feature is missing).

I appreciate your work on this rom and it was very interesting to see where 6.5 is going.

No worries. As I said, being on the cutting edge isn't for everyone. There will be bugs and issues.

Also, it is looking like the files for 23060 and 23420 will not be posted for our device. Joojoo thinks the bugs are too many to be worth porting it to our device, so we may have to wait for the next build.

It was impressive what you accomplished though! I'm sure after the official release in October we'll see lots to port. Do you happen to know how much 6.5 official will resemble any particular build? I'm wondering if the new stuff in the build you ported for us (forgive me if I'm using the wrong term) is completely experimental or is part of the official new release as it seems very different from build 23016 for example.

Frankly I really don't care which the official release is, I just enjoyed testing out some of the builds, but I am curious what the official release will look like

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/25/09]NagROM[WM6.5.1 Build 23053][V0.8 & V2.8]

The official 6.5 release is for the most part complete. The version Nag has build for us is the next release 6.5.1. The main difference is the official 6.5 has the start button on the home screen in the top left corner along with all of your action button. Were as 6.5.1 has everything in the bottom row. Keep in mind there are other difference and more to come with later releases. As Nag has stated this is cutting edge! I believe I read that build 23060 was just build by MS on 9.28.09.

I'm working on 23060 right now. Hopefully V0.9 out tomorrow night along with V2.9 with the new Touch Manila :-)

On a side note, I may have messed something up (maybe the reason for all the issues) with V2.8 as I am using a kitchen that is completely new to me, so sorry if it is my fault. If V0.8 works and V2.8 doesn't then I prolly messed it up or the kitchen did. I use one kitchen for the V0.X and a different one for VX.X
