Re: OpenGL Driver

Me too ,I just dont know how to prove it lol
Im trying to send benchmarking results and keep getting connection error.Anyboby have a benchmarking tool or cab application that actually requires this driver except qvga tf3d cab?

horndoctor 07-23-2009 01:49 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

Look for vsbenchmark.
I had it but lost it when I did a hard reset.
Shouldn't be too hard to find. I think I got it from the Vogue registry edits/tweaks thread.

Whosdaman 07-23-2009 02:08 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

I've never been able to get benchmark to even load on the Vogue at all lol

horndoctor 07-23-2009 02:13 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

Well, I was searching the registry thread and I think rstoyguy posted a link to it. It might be outdated by now but I did use it and it worked and I was able to confirm that the edits and tweaks that I made did speed up my Vogue. This was the Virtual Spaghetti Benchmark.

Re: OpenGL Driver

I'm still hoping OpenGL is possible. And didn't someone mention after OpenGL was done, D3D would need worked on? Do we really need both?

Re: OpenGL Driver

whats the differance between the OpenGL and the OpenVG drivers

Whosdaman 07-23-2009 06:25 PM

Re: OpenGL Driver

Idk....but VG comes afterward

Re: OpenGL Driver

I don't know if this is anything of interest. I've had this page bookmarked, and i see he now has a beta 2 driver pack. I also have a openVG driver cab from him. i notice that this seems to be for a different chipset. is that one of the blocks we're up against also? if anything its interesting reading for those who may want to learn more.

I've fllowed that thread as well....it's for the gsm prcessor...7200

Our is CDMA which is 7500

domu 07-23-2009 08:14 PM

Re: OpenGL Driver

i feared that when noticing him talking about the chipset. wow the wiki is more then my brain can take in right now. At least I was able to find my answer for the differance of the divers there

Re: OpenGL Driver

any word if nfsfan is still working on this or not??(since he has his tp):???:

Whosdaman 07-26-2009 02:54 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

I talked to him and he informed me that it was working not up to par, but well enough to run Manilla 3D as well as Touch Pro, but there are still a few things to be fixed in the wrapper and he said then it might be ready

Re: OpenGL Driver

Sounds promising!?
Right!?

Link9228 07-26-2009 11:19 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

that does sound promising. Manila 3D is still pretty nice. The only problem... are there actual separate cabs that install Manila2D/3D? If not, someone will have to cook the openGL and manila3D into their ROMs

horndoctor 07-27-2009 12:21 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

Is there that much diff between manilla2d and 3d? Pardon my ignorance. :)

Link9228 07-27-2009 04:04 AM

Re: OpenGL Driver

No, not exactly, but they are completely separate applications... and generally speaking, M2D and M3D are built into the ROMs. M3D has the nice footprints thing, as well as the today plugin, and it looks a bit better. So it's an improvement.

Whosdaman 07-27-2009 06:42 PM

Re: OpenGL Driver

Link, M2D has footprints....

M3D has more tabs, and better functioning, and looks better....but it just recently got footprints with M3D2.5....but that hasnt even been released yet

in no version of m2d that I've ever used have I seen these footprints... what am I missing?

Re: OpenGL Driver

Not alot unless HTC improved it since the touch cruise 09 release.

Takes pictures with geotagging, can open google maps and see where you took your picture, add notes etc. If you like the picture they are stored in a different format and are a pain to transfer to a pc. It also uses alot of background processes slowing down your ppc unless your a quick draw with sk tools to shut unwanted processes down.

NFSFAN was the first to port it to another device (his wm6.1 ROMS), he even got mentioned on engadget for his feat. He took it out, at first disabling it then removing it completely due to the performance issues.

A neat gimmick, not worth the slowdown and extra battery drain on your device. Hope it working better for the latest TF3d.

Well whatever, you know if you use my roms, they have footprints in it and it works flawlessly....and there's not much to port...all I did was drag and drop it into an oem....

lol, make him seem like a hero eh? lol I've had footprints just as long as he has, and I still have it...

Re: OpenGL Driver

This weird. I'm reading this thread and its actually on topic. No rumors, fights, or drama...nothing but phone stuff. I had to scroll up to make sure I was on the right thread lol. Glad to see we still have hope for OpenGL or just better 3D acceleration.

Since we're back on topic, does anyone know if the new Mega ROM stuff can be ported to our phones? It looks great and its specifically for 6.5 which is nice

Andrewwelton 07-29-2009 03:48 PM

Re: OpenGL Driver

From what I understand yes, the mega stuff will work on our phones. In Whosdaman's thread it looks like he is cooking in the new Manilla2D from the Mega, and there is a whole pack of cabs on XDA that will work on our phones from the Mega.

Awesome. I really liked the way it looked.

No problem... I think it looks pretty good myself... trying to decide whether or not I should jump on the bandwagon and cook it into my rom as well :P

I'll take that one on the chin...I deserved it.

Been a while since I've loaded one of your ROM's (Decemeber actually!!!).....might be time to try again but I am enjoying V13 from NFS at the moment. You guys both rock, I've always wanted to try making my own ROMS (well....I have but it was the worst I ever flashed!!!), with 2 masters at work on the Vogue..........why bother!!!

Didn't mean any disrespect WDM, I know you and NFS are good friends and both deserve all the praise you can get, our Vogues our lucky you guys get along!!!
