it can't be tooo bad. :D:D But I hated the first xperia. lol. so I don't know if I'll like the pro. lol. Although I was looking at it and was pondering waiting for it. haha |
Re: OpenGL Driver
all this talk about the new phones, and we dont even know what they look like yet! (Or am i wrong and missing something? :P)
The Superstars specs are from the leaked list of 2009 phones right? If so, wouldnt the Thoth be pretty badass? 1 GHz cpu and a 4.8 inch screen? *drools* Imagine the possibilites with that! |
Re: OpenGL Driver
Ehh....it's more like a smaller netbook, not like a PPC
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
ah ok thanks for clearing that up for me. Is it also true about the TP2 being slower then the TP?
Im on bell and since bells getting a GSM network soon i was going to upgrade to a TP2... now im not so sure... |
Re: OpenGL Driver
Quote:
I read somewhere that it could still be more powerful due to the driver upgrades and blah blah blah more and more technical things. but with Nfsfan's rom, the TP is better. :D |
Re: OpenGL Driver
Well i would love to get a TP but by the time I can afford to payoff my contract, or my contract expires, newer phones will be available on bell, which is why i was looking to the TP2. Maybe if bell ends up with the GSM we will get the Superstar or one of the other great phones that are coming. *Fingers Crossed!*

But see from what NFSFAN says TP and Tpro2 have the same processor 75001a, but from a spec sheet for HTC...it shows the tPro2 CDMA with a 7601a Processor |
Re: OpenGL Driver

maybe it's his bell carrier that has done that to the tp2.... |

Also, I will tell the honest truth, no device is worth buying today or anytime unless you are guaranteed a WM7 upgrade for that device...the reason being I'm holding out for SuperStar |

it was everywhere on the net a while back. |

1. HTC SuperStar 2. HTC Star 3. HTC Thoth Please note that all 3 of these are the 3 coming with 6.5 stock this year |
Re: OpenGL Driver

it was in all of the mobile conference videos of the preview of TP2, where the unveiling of the TP2 was. they said it will have the 6.5 upgrade (as it will be shipped with 6.1, but now that 6.5 is complete, I wouldnt be surprised if it comes with 6.5 instead) and then they went on to say that it was verified by microsoft that the tp2 will get the wm7 upgrade. I'll have to see if I can find that video or some other kind of info for you later. |
Re: OpenGL Driver
The X2 gets WM7 =D
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
Ok I want to see this video Cody (and I do remember you saying that)
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
I would like to have the Touch HD. But it probably won't be CDMA.
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
Quote:
there were like 40 copies of the mobile world conference tp2 release that would pop up whenever I searched with anything that would even be the remotely-est related to the TP2. now I can't even find one. what gives. edit: okay I found some versions of the video now, but they're all the short ones. :/ I had the extended one saved in my book marks, it was 45 minutes long, but it was deleted by the user, and I can only find 15 minute ones. :/ Quote:
but no thanks. I'm waiting for a year to see what will be out. |
Re: OpenGL Driver
White or Firestone is suppose to be dual cdma and gsm

and are compatible with both the gsm frequencies along with cdma frequencies. I just wonder if they're going to be a pain to unlock like some gsm phones can be. |
Re: OpenGL Driver
I don't get why we don't all just use one type of data. I guess it's money for them... it would be so much easier for the consumer if they all had the same type. But since when do corporations care about us anyways? *sigh* I mean... they each have their benefits, but come on! Combine the good parts, drop the bad! (and what did I head about a TDMA service or something similar that verizon's supposed to switch to?)
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
Quote:
I don't want to get verizon. ahhhh! Dangit alltel, why'd you sell out. lol. But I'm gonna have to research that Tdma. |
Re: OpenGL Driver
ill just be happy as long as the GSM network comes soon with Bell because right now, they have NO phones at all... theyve got the Touch, Diamond and TP.
Whereas rogers has all the android devices, and unless bell gets GSM soon, Rogers will nab all the new HTC phones as well.:( |
Re: OpenGL Driver
Andrew your not looking at the big picture, you can buy the phones out of Europe before they even think about coming here and use them with GSM.....that's the only reason why I want AT&T or T-Mob

Re: OpenGL Driver
i know you can buy phones from overseas but for me that is unfortuneately not an option as i cannot afford to buy a phone online and then get a plan for it. ive also got 2 more years on my vogue contract. which is another reason why im closely following bells gsm news, for my next phone. believe me if i could buy a newer phone i would, not to say im not happy with all you guys have done for the vogue. :)

Re: OpenGL Driver
Quote:
I would have been able to get the TP2 no problem then.... would have been heck of a lot cheaper too. grrr at cdma. |
Re: OpenGL Driver
lol f*ck the tpro2, I would be getting the Firestone or Whitestone as soon as it came out...the GSM side of the devices is much better anyways CDMA is horrible for developing and updates

but all I have to say is **** the firestone or whitestone. afterall, wasn't firestone the tire that kept bursting into flames a few years back? why would you want a phone that is named after something like that? it's like asking for a device that will burn down your house. haha. I predict it now, the device is going to cause tons of houses to burn down out of no where. hahahhahaha Quote:

Re: OpenGL Driver
Pfft....I barely notice any difference between EVDO and EVDO Rev. A, so what 3G and 4G that big of a difference? I mean what 1 mb more?
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
Quote:
atleast by the hardcore techies that work with that stuff and develop the different gens. |
Re: OpenGL Driver
Yeah, a true 4G technology must be capable of having a maximum 1Gb speed, capable only, not that the network has to implement it. the rest are 3.5G (similar to the 2.5G stuff that was out before true 3G came about).
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
Well SPrint is suppose to be bringing out the first true 4G
|
Re: OpenGL Driver
I love this thread.
I see that there are new posts and I check it cause I think there might be news about OpenGL and every time I check there is a diff topic being kicked around. lol This has to be the best thread of the year! Forget the cage. So I ask with hope, OpenGL!? PornRom!? Anybody!? |
