Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

xv6900 with official 6.1, customizations ran, Valhalla installed - all stable working great. Couple things I'm still looking for/questions. Noobie friendly please - thanks in advance for your help
Looking for local weather noobie friendly fix or a weather program that will work with sun icon
the running programs program seems to have changed is there a way to make it work like the old one(like task manager) or some other program that functions this way.

Hi All,
I have been reading through the forum for the last couple hours. Now that the offical WM 6.1 update is out what are the exact step to get the gps running with Tomtom and google maps, etc. I think I read that the Vahalla cab doesn't work with with com port based gps programs like TomTom about 15 pages back. Could someone please write out the step to needed to get this all running correctly with the RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship Verizon Rom.

I can tell you what worked for me:
1. download wm6.1 to PC from verizon website
2. open instructions in word - follow (sync phone, open, run)
3. I let customizations run (i've seen instructions on this site to stop them).
4. Follow GPS instructions from

Phone stable all works great=D>. (I only have tried it with google maps) I still need to get my local weather to work, but this is a work phone so i am conservative about what I do to it.

I think what he's asking though is whether or not this will enable TomTom to work or not. I still haven't had an opportunity to try it on mine, and with there being another crack <GASP> on this phone forming (same place as my last phone), I'll probably not try anything else on this phone - in fact, probably going to head to Verizon either during lunch or after work to get a Samsung Omnia (yes, I know GPS isn't unlocked, but this crack business is driving me ape-S**t!)

I'm on my third phone due to cracks - have had this one since aug 08 so far so good "fingers crossed"

Ok now i'm just plain confused, I installed the official Verizon 6.1 update and the valhalla server, and put the gps from 911 to location. At first it worked great with google maps and live and was thinking that it was easy, now an hour later its not working and I can't figure out why. Anyone else have any luck?

WOO HOO!! I was just online and thought I would check again on that oh so long delayed Verizon release of 6.1. Have to say that I am damn happy because it works great, found the GPS cab on XDA and everything is working great. Thanks all, took about 30 minutes to do it all. Now updating my Today page to the way I like it, you all know what I am talking about. Love finally having threading back after losing it when I went from my flashed 6700, to the Touch.
To Verizon, I would just like to say this. WHAT TOOK SO LONG?? I mean seriously, how long did it really take the boys at XDA to crack your GPS lock? Hell, I might use VZNavigator if I didn't think you were trying to bend me over without even giving me any Vasoline, well maybe not really. But if it was superior like Opera is to IE or whatever then maybe. I guess what I am trying to say to you is that if you spent as much time and money trying to force us to use your pay services as you did developing your software solutions you offer then maybe your company might actually be the best.
Just a thought.
