If you dont mind, and can handle the tasks I outlined in my prior post, then I would love to hear it you can get TomTom working. I believe you need 2.6.0.303, as this gives you WM GPS input functionality. 2.6.0.280 does not have this option.

Steve- just another note here. I have a friend who is won a xv6900 from ebay and wants to update. He was wondering if he could do all the updating etc and have it proven BEFORE activating his phone? I am wondering myself at what point is activating necc. to make all workable? I hope to go ahead with some of your steps later tonight if I don't lose nerve or hear something contrary. thanks leslie
