Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Anyone getting slow download and upload speeds?
How do I check if I am really using the RevA? yes I have applied the BELL official ROM upgrade... that was the only ROM i ever upgraded!

I've just tethered and tested on speakeasy.net and im only getting 484 kbps down and 467 kbps up?!?!

I checked ##778# and data parameters and i do not have the line saying if evdo is enabled or disabled as some ppl seems to suggest...

What could be wrong or what can i do to make it faster?

on mobilespeedtest.com I am getting even worse 265 kbps from PIE on the mobile...

Help!

Thanks

ps: I've done the test in West Island (Montreal)... and Downtown resp.

Did you apply the BELL new Official ROM? This will upgade yours to rev A as well...

the thing is i have mine updated... and only bothered to test the speed now ... and noticed when i test it as many ppl here are testing ( ie tethering to a laptop and go on speedtest.net to check the download and upload speed on an IE browser on their pc), i only get the speed posted bove...

When you said yours is slow how did you test yours? via your WM or via your laptop?

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Yes I do have official rom and I just flashed 3 minutes ago to OMJ's new bell rom also.
I don't really test via anything but PIE lol. but I will try checking if it opens Opera 9.5 beta webpages fast.

how do I know if REv.A is enabled or disabled

I could try a speed test soon.

Dont use Opera... i think someone mentioned it is processed data... and may not be an accurate bench.
How much did you get with mobilespeedtest.com on PIE?

I'm also not sure if i have revA enabled.. i would think so since the upgrade was supposed to be just that + GPS

Although i was reading that the ##778 was supposed to show you the revA in the data param on a new line... which we both dont have.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

oh wow I wasn't expect that but I got 868kps it said around 104kb/s
that's good enough for me!
but it's strange that the website takes 2-3 minutes to open, the test takes a few seconds, then it takes a few minutes to get results, . but other websites are fine.. mobilespeedtest is slow.

I used PIE.

Edit: I did test with Opera 9.5 beta 1 and I received around 324mb/s download xD it was around 2800 mbps
we can safely conclude that PIE is the better one to test with only.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

For those using Skyfire browser, did you manage to get it working with the new Bell ROM? I reflashed my phone last night, been trying to re-install everything, so I downloaded the .cab from skyfire, and tried to install.

However the install always stops, saying that it was unsuccesful. I had been using Skyfire previously for months, its easily the nicest browser for me anyways, and I would hate to not be able to use it again.

Any luck fellow canucks?

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Heres the issue I have

I installed the rom and works perfectly. Big improvement from the original Bell ROM.

Anyways, I went to get it for a co worker and discovered it has been removed. Am I just nuts or is it true?

Anyways I copied the ROM. My copy will not work on the co workers phone either.

Any ideas!!!
