I have a never updated HTC Touch on sprint(upgraded from an Apache) and was wondering if I should flash it with the official ROM before using the kitchen to cook my own? Also, is the OEM that is downloaded with the updater based on this latest ROM?

You want to upgrade first before using the kitchen to get updated radio/GPS.

The Sprint ROM is for the VOGUE100. It's a different device entirely. I doubt it would work at all. However, over at xda-developers there is a lot of help for the GSM Elf.

i have a question on the text messaging now on the new 6.1 version of ROM... i'm wondering if there is a way i can disable the way the text messages are saved in my inbox... they are saved as "chat" conversations... thanks...

I want to download new ROM straight to my phone..is this possible,cause I cant tranfer fro laptop to phone,so is there a file to download new ROM straight to my HTC Touch..anyone

You could extract the ROM and flash via SD. It just takes a long time to flash that way. I believe the problem with that is is it doesn't upgrade the radio, which is essential. You haven't got a USB cable?

I do but Im ussing an apple laptop and It wont let me(I cant figure it out)
..so your telling me download file to laptop then plug usb and it will transfer....Ill try it with my friends HP notebook..thanks for the help...if it work I'll let you know
