Re: Vogue 19588 Kitchen

Regardless of whether the GPS has the latest drivers, I'd like to know if the functionality/performance of the GPS on the XV6900 has improved. I think it's working pretty good for Sprint Touch.

I don't think so. It seems that the majority of people using only the 'official' ROM are getting pretty reliable GPS service. When I first built my kitchen ROM it worked flawlessly, but now has returned to the common problem of ZERO satellite locks even with a soft reset. With the HTC GPS Tool and it shows that I can find/use 10+ satellites but get 0 locks/fixes.

I know with the 3.02 kitchen inserting the virser.dll and running the PPST cab worked wonders. The funny thing is that in this ROM I can go into the windows folder and find the PPST.exe file, but when I try to run it I get an error "backup EFS failed" (???).

Has a PPST 2.04 cab been released?

I'm jealous of you sprint ppst-able users... I'm on the xv6900, and gps pretty much sucks. It'll get 4-5 with a clear view of the sky

Yah, my locks take about 4-10 minutes and it'll usually be about 4-5, just as you state. Although I have been as high as 8, it's not very common. I even tried it with the HTC GPS tool using the quick view (there is an option to use quick view in the HTC tool), but it's still forever.

However, the rest seems pretty solid...except for HTC album...but it's all good.

I concur this kitchen's GPS is flakey. It will work okay for me for around a day and then just stop getting fixes. After a soft reset it seems to work again. Never had any issues with the OEM.

I just flashed and checked this out, same problem.

I downloaded an older version that works fine (HERE).
