You shouldn't need to backup contacts though, I never have for flashing to different custom ROMs or hard resetting. The contacts manager on my pc keeps all the contacts. Flash, hard reset, sync up and it syncs all my old contacts. If you want to prove this to yourself, have the phone disconnected and go into contacts on outlook. If you don't have outlook it should show up in start menu -> accessories -> address book, I believe. If you are concerned however you can backup using SPB or one of the other many backup programs just to be sure... especially if you want stuff other than just contacts backed up. The biggest pain is reinstalling programs I think. |

All i have to say is... Damn this thread is getting long. I went to work for five or six hours. When i came home there was 8 new pages to read! So has anyone checked their www.sprint.com to see if there are any kind of extra charges, especially of the data kind? |

I have nowhere near that many, but I did successfully restore ~700 text messages. The first time I reloaded them using PimBackup, the messages were out of order in the threads. Then I ran the restore again opting to only add new messages.... and the threads were correctly displayed. 700 seemed to be pushing the limits of the Touch when I opened my first threaded message, so I have some doubt that 9000 will go smoothly. |

Make sure you download the WM6.1 variety off their site. I installed WM6 the first time and I received the same errors as above. |
