I just finished the upgrade and I'm running my PIM restore right now. Thanks to all that contributed to this thread. I'm so geeked right now.

If anybody is nervous about running this upgrade, don't be. It couldn't be any easier and that is coming from a complete noob.

Anyone notice that you can't get to the options for the HTC Home today screen? I don't use some of the features on it, like weather, but can't remove it from the list of tabs.

Anyone having issues with PCM keyboard and the included Sprint Navigation? Never had issues until now... Keyboard disappears right after opening... works ok with other included keyboard.

i believe its everything "wireless" about your phone (calls, data/internet, etc.)

sprintmogulfan 06-25-2008 02:24 PM

I also get an error when installing Tcpmp. That blows!

i believe the radio is like the drivers for the antenna in your phone. an updated radio should perform better than previous ones and could add capabilities that prior radios didn't have.

as for free internet, this was a capability that's been there since the touch first came out. you do this by connecting your phone to your computer via usb cable and using the internet sharing program to get internet on your computer, with your phone acting as the modem. this is called tethering.

this isn't free unless you have an unlimited data plan tho... also, know that sprint is putting a 5G cap on data soon. :(

Sprint forced the Phone as Modem profile for Internet Sharing in the new Mogul ROM as well. I posted this in the Titan forum:

Edit: LuLuTheMonk made a cab for the reg entry here.

Sprint has forced Internet Sharing to use the Phone as Modem profile for dialing out. There is not an option to change it like there used to be:

I poked around a little bit, and it looks like they added this reg key in HKLM/Comm/InternetSharing/Settings --> ForceCellConnection [String value = "Phone as Modem"]

Just change it to "Sprint PCS" and you'll be good to go. Plus you won't have to worry about selecting Phone as Modem at all in the future. Thanks Sprint! That is actually pretty handy! :)

your welcome.. this is what i have been reading anyway for the last week or so. I have gone through hundreds of posts trying to clarify that. due to i use my phone to tether all day long. lol so this would suck for me if they put the cap on. But since its for phone as a modem and such there is no affect to me.

upgrading to this new rom posses a potential problem though cause i have been hearing that ics is not working under sprint pcs that it only works under phone as a modem which would defeat the purpose of upgrading

Nope. Still has the Voice Tag based crap! I believe Sprint or HTC would have to license it from MS because they profit off of it.

Hey-

I put the sprint ROM on my VZW XV6900, and rebooted before the sprint customations ran, flashed my kitchen rom back and everything is working great.

FYI - I did already have the coke bootloader on there from prior flashes as well.

Just wanted to share my experience.

Ugh. I use MSVC more than anything else. Works OK in the kitchen based ROM I'm using so I'm going to have to wait until the new ROM makes it to the kitchen.
