Gotcha.

Love the new start up animation. It's sick compared to the old "Rated for SprintSpeed" animation.

That is cool, I also want to save the "Red icons" from the sprint plugin. User customization replaces them. I'll rip this rom apart today and see what I can do. But it is quicker that the diamond rom when tethering... Love it!

cool, so if I understand you correctly, you have no problems with ICS? No preliminary tweaks needed to get it going or stuff like that?

Just updated with the new ROM. I do not know if I am doing something wrong but with google maps when I try to use my location it comes up with an error saying "your handset doesn't seem to be compatible with My Location (beta) feature". Am I doing something wrong? I just wanted to try out the GPS with this new rom.

you might just need to run IOTA. if you let the customizations run, it is under phone settings, internet

Should I have the GPS settings set by windows or set manually? when I click on use GPS is just stays on seeking GPS satellites.

I sure hope this fixes the SD card issue. I'm getting frustrated with having to keep it backed up too just in case of failure.

So this is the "official" release? I'm running the leaked ROM and I didn't have to unlock for that one, is it the same for this one?

You shouldn't have to unlock for any ship.exe ROM. The official release is a signed RUU and your Touch should accept it fine.

Just as with any of the GPS ROMs, you don't use the My Location feature, you have to do the Use GPS feature.

So for people who have flashed to the previous leaked ROM running 3.37.15 Radio and then updated to a cooked ROM can we just run this new official ROM exe and let it take it's course or is there something special we have todo?

so does anyone notice a difference between the leaked rom and this one released? if so can you point them out? Just wondering if its worth flashing all over again. I found the leaked rom very stable.

I just flashed to this new ROM to get the new radio and PRI. I would like to flash vetvito's rom and was wondering if I need to use the unlocker tools again. This thing new ROM is nice and like the way it performs but I got used to the customizations of Vetvito's Rom.

You should go into the camera-bootloader screen and see if it says coke-2.31 (double-check that number, its whatever his latest unlocker is labeled)

new radio
new PRI
new ROM version
same 6.1 build
GPS is much quicker to acquire satellites
new ROM seems as fast as any of the cooked ones or Diamond builds

Re: NEW official Sprint ROM posted on XDA-dev by DCD

I have no clue how to do this because I am just a ROM thief, I dont know how to do any of this BUT.... The Red icons (that I think are pretty bad ***) are just the icons that are on the newest version of Verizons Touch (Their white one, not sure if they have another) I just sold my buddy one and I like the icons too. So i think that might make it easier then, but what do I know.

And the screen Splash is the same thing the instinct uses when it loads.

Just some information that I actually knew.

My apologies for the possible repetition, but I'm still not entirely clear on this. I just updated to the leaked ROM the other day using the unlocker. Do I need to do ANYTHING prior to installing the official update? Or just connect my phone to my PC and run the EXE file?

If I have the "Almost OEM" ROM, should I even bother installing this? Any noticeable differences?

I'm new to WM and upgrading ROMs... my Touch has the stock ROM. I run Sprite Backup every night. After upgrading the ROM should I restore from Sprite Backup or would it be better to install everything fresh?

Also with backed up text messages... will the phone thread them? Or should I start over with those as well?

Thanks in advance for helping a noob!

I'm sure you have noticed by now but it is included. Once you flash the ROM and let customizations run it self-installs Telenav.

This is nothing like my Almost OEM 6.1 ROM. The main(and key) differences is that mine is a custom and the is a 100% official ROM shipped by the carrier. It does not include any of the extras that were in my ROM and It is a newer build.

My understanding is that nothing needs to be done. Just make Activesync is connected then run the exe. No unlocking needed. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

No. Even though the leaked ROM was leaked it was still a carrier shipped ROM. This means you would not have had to run the unlocker to begin with. since you are on Sprint.

Since this is an Official Release, you do not need to do anything special to flash this ROM. Just run the exe(as admin if you have Vista). You can even do this without unlocking if Sprint is your carrier.

What about if my touch is from sprint but I am running the alltel rom ?

Do I need to do any additional task before flashing ?

My bootloader does say cokeman 2.31

Just need to make sure.

Thanks

You are good. Anybody that has a Sprint Touch can install this regardless.

I just upgraded from the alltel radio (but used OMJ's rom) and I had the cokeman 2.31 bootloader. Everything went fine :)

Anyone tried no2chem's battery thing (the 1% incriment one) on this ROM yet? I'm not too wild about trying it, as I just got everything set back up, so maybe someone who just flashed or who has tried it already, can chime in.

Thanks.

the no2chem battery 1% increment cab that I installed, seems to work just fine ... also, VistaHide battery gauge via cab works fine, too.

dharvey4651,
I really liked many of your customizations and has been my personal favorite customized rom on the touch. Do you have any of the customizations in cab form for easy installations?

I actually do not have many of those apps at all. I had all OEMs that I used in the kitchen.
