I'm running Garmin XT using COM 4 and it works fine. Which COM port uses the GPS intermediate drivers?

My options are only to use bluetooth or attached GPS (COM ports 4, 6, 7, and 9).

I used COM for until yesterday when I downloaded the most recent version. 4.20.50wp. Now I can't use com4 on Garmin unless GPS Viewer is running. I believe that GPS intermediate drivers still have to use COM4 don't they? Either way, GRS Intermediate Drivers works fine and I have more satelites than ever.

PS - I did my initial satelite search after my hard reset on top of Rockefeller Center. I figured that was the best place! ANd it was, I have never picked up so many sats!!!!!!!!

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

YES!
Flashed to Leaked ROM, ran PPST.exe in the /windows dir, confirmed PRI 2.03, then flashed OMJ's... now getting 8-10 sats in 10secs. Amazing! Doing more testing now...
Definitely the fix we've been looking for...

Running the PPST cab was the mistake. You needed to run the PPST.EXE file that is patched after a full leaked rom installed with customizations run and rebooted.

The Cab seems to put you on a PRL that doesn't work. Just reupdated your PRL to 60612 using ##775#. You will need to know your MSL.

If you are running a PPCKitchen ROM and you want to install PPST, wouldn't you accomplish the installation by running PPST_080407_7500_SPCS_2.03.sa.CAB and then running PPST.exe which is installed by this CAB?

I know the context of your reply to ptfdmedic is different, I am just wondering ...

I am on a bell touch but I dont want to run the ppst because it will mess up my phone. Any body figure out how to work this for a different carrier?

Do not run this on your non-Sprint phone, it only helps with Sprint users because it is updating the part of the phone that looks for the right signals for Sprint.

Flash leaked and let all customizations run, after it reboots, run PPST.EXE found in windows directory, it's a hidden file. It will updated your PRI. After which you can cook up custom OS ROM to your heart's content. As long as you don't flash a different radio or run some random CAB that edits your phone portion.

Correct, ONLY for Sprint.

EDIT: The cab, PPST_080407_7500_SPCS_2.03.sa.CAB has SPCS in the name and is from the Sprint leaked ROM. I am under the impression that you should NOT run this, unless you are a Sprint customer.

Are you certain, have you tried this file on a non-updated phone? Have to make sure that the sprint customizations ran the patch on the ppst.exe file.

This file may be misleading if it's not the completely patched PPST.EXE result after the flash and complete run after reboot.

I would say use this attached file with caution until it's confirmed as being the same PPST.EXE.

I would not be sure, as I am not sure if the PATCH ran on the PPST.EXE included in that cab. I know that while running the customization it runs the patch on the PPST.EXE file BUT doesn't run the PPST.EXE once it's done. That's why you have to re-run the PATCHED PPST.EXE after your phone has completed and rebooted, from the patched file in the windows directory.

EDIT: Someone mentioned that the customizations beep and put up a requester asking if you want to update your radio, but then quickly gets hidden before you can answer, ending up without running the PATCHED PPST.EXE file.
