Re: Dangers of downgrading after installing GPS radio (and a little on signing)
I COULD really use some help.
I have a sprint touch which probably did not have a gps radio onb it. I CID unlocked it with the .41 unlocked I believe (ie. the unlocker for non gps devices I thought) Then I flashed it with OMJ's Stock ROM. After that it wouldnt boot up all way- just said HTC Innovation or something like that. Then I tried to flash it with the official stock htc rom posted somewhere on here, and then it would stop at 29 percent and be stuck in bootloader. I then flashed it again with OMG and it cam eup and said "NO RADIO" and wouldnt boot up. I have it in rainbow bootloader mode now and dont know what to do with it. IF someone will help me I would really appreciate it, and if i get it working as a result of your help then my paypal will be very grateful as well. Thanks |

Re: Dangers of downgrading after installing GPS radio (and a little on signing)
Ok, I will try posting again-
my phone is in bootloader and says: vogu100 spl-0.41.Coke CPLD-3 here is what I did: I unlocked a Vogue with the non-gps unlocker (SPL-0.41.Coke) then I loaded a GPS rom onto the phone (OMJ 3.09) and now it is stuck at the HTC Screen. I then tried to flash a stock ROM to the phone, but as descreibed above it will not fully load- it stops at 29 percent- tried it a couple times. I then tried the OMJ 3.09 again and it still stuck in HTC Screen, and says "No radio.' I am trying to figure out what to do. I was told by someone to load a GPS radio into it and see if it boots. I have the radio to install but not sure if thats best bet. I was told by someone else to install nongps radio and then install a nongps rom. One concern I have is that I will brick my phone that way (if i try to downgrade to a nongps radio after installing a gps rom...but im not sure that the gps rom actually installed a gps radio or not cuz my phone was only .41 unlocked) Also, I cant seem to install a stock rom because it stops at 29 percent. Any ideas? Thanks |

You need to roll back to the preGPS rom provided by Verizon but first the bootloader that is compatible with it, then you need to install up to a custom ROM and radio of your choice (first the bootloader that goes with it), and then you need to run QPST and my serf telus cab. I will be glad to post links if you cannot find it, but it is in the main Vogue forum or if you look in my signature at the Telus aGPS link. Hope this helps, Verizon makes it difficult for you to get your phone running GPS but there are many who are using it so you need to research just a bit more and read a lot before doing these steps so you don't make it more difficult than necessary.

Re: Dangers of downgrading after installing GPS radio (and a little on signing)
Ok, please help before I blow my brains out. I was planning on waking up tomorrow and going back to a Verizon Windows 6.0 ROM so that my GPS would not be blocked out....then go straight to NFSFAN's Windows 6.5 ROM. Then I would finally be able to make THESE aGPS instructions work and finally have working GPS on my phone. Every freaking thread tells my something different and scary. After reading 30 pages in that aGPS thread I had decided I needed to revert to a ROM that didn't have GPS blocked out.....but then I find this thread which seems to say I can't go back to a ROM that old. So now I'm totally lost as to what to do. I love my Touch....but now I wish I had bought something with GPS working out of the box. This **** is getting old real quick. So please save my life and lead me in the right direction. Please and thanks in advance!!!!!
-Travis My phone history: Pulled out of the box 3 weeks ago with stock 6.0 ROM.....then I ran the official Verizon 6.1 ROM(which I think is also called mr2, being the newest 6.1 ROM)....then I put NFSFAN's 6.5 ROM v7 on the phone. So thats where I'm at now...and everything is great except no GPS what-so-ever. |

Re: Dangers of downgrading after installing GPS radio (and a little on signing)
[QUOTE=ImCoKeMaN;278391]I'm trying to get a little more details of what state people are in after different flash steps to help make my warnings more precise rather than the general "don't do it" so if anyone has an MFG bootloader, already did radio flashes, and knows anything about MTTY please check out this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26196so, have u find any solutions?I had similar problem and situation here.I did downgrade my radio from 3.42.50 to version 1.x using SPL 0.41 like someone's thread on xda to get standalone GPS.Now I have an issue, seems like as u said, some portions of radio aren't overwritten.here some symptoms I got :1. when booting, WM6 said "Phone Off". in comm manager its status is Flight mode. when I turned on the phone, a pop up shown "Phone is off, do you want to turn it on?" I press yes, but the radio shown no signal. when I tried to make call, phone was turned off again. Can't make any calls at all.2. when I enter EPST #778 and make some changes and then press OK, it said "Turn on LPM failed. Press OK to reset device".3. when I use QPST to make PRL changes then press Write to phone, the gauge bar showed 100% but then the device automatically reset (soft). The QPST then showed message something like "Writing process not finished".Same problem shown when I tried to back to 3.42.50 with SPL 2.31.So, any ideas to help this noob? Thanks a lot! |
