OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A! Updated 5/29/08

I think I may have found a compatibility issue with this ROM and Weather Panel. Whenever I install WeatherPanel, the phone will hang on the "installation completed" screen. If I restart the phone, it hangs at the end of the WM 6.1 green screen. In order to eliminate any other apps that could cause this, I've tried installing WeatherPanel right after a hard reset, but the result is the same. Here's my configuration:

OMJ GPS/Rev A V2
3.37.15 Radio
PRI 2.03_003

Any suggestions?

BTW- The GPS works GREAT!

I've had the v2 custom rom installed for almost a week and everything seems to be working great. 90 percent of the time I get gps locks within 30 sec.

My rev A speeds are also good.

I have one question. How do I chang the default browser? I installed the Opera 9 which changed to the default browser. I would like to keep PIE as my main browser.

Amazing rom as usual! most stable of all. just gps not working, can't get a lock even after doing everything. (I'm with bell) I only see numbers in the GPS viewer, such as 24 with a red square and other numbers pop up and also a red dot with a number on the worldmap but no fix. and using the programs, live search or google maps. it gives me a location when i center GPS that is around 5 minutes from here. never where I live. I went out today and tried it far from here but also no lock.

I'll wait til next version.

have you used WP in other 6.1 roms? this is the 1st I've heard of...

I'm sure it's a regedit, but I'd have to search for it....

I've seen other bell users say the same....not sure what the key is for bell.....seems ppst is what makes gps so good for sprint.

I am on Bell and flashed OMJ's v.2 and radio 37.15 and pgs works really good for me, sometimes it takes me a few minutes with a reset maybe but I can lock with in 30 seconds with google maps after gpsviewer is running.

I love this ROM, but GPS seems to stop working after a few hours. A soft-reset is required to get it going again.

I didn't have this problem on the leaked ROM, or with Dharvey's latest...

Should I have VIRSER_GPS.DLL in the /Windows directory? I noticed it wasn't there in this latest ROM.

I have already done the PPST.EXE (PRI) update, and GPS works amazingly well on other ROMS.

So... VIRSER? yes/no?

There seems to be a small problem with the e-mail button. If I go inside the text messages on the today window, then I close it. I click on the e-mail button and the text messages open but not the e-mail, so I have to manually go to the email inbox using the tree.
It used to work fine with the previous ROM before GPS and such.
I also tried the tweak from the advanced config where it says open e-mail account. But still the same thing happens so now I have to set it in the options so that it has to display account picker.
Any idea OMJ ?

Also, how can I get back the original dialer that came with the phone? I like it more than vista dialer.

Any update coming soon on the rom ? can't wait

I recently flashed to your rom and I have noticed this same problem other wise when the gps is working man do I get quick locks.

the concensus is no, the virser.dll is not needed. you can always copy it to \windows to see if it makes any difference.

I am still testing my Alltel full rom, and everytime I launch google, gps locks within seconds....
