I haven't downloaded OMJ's new rom but I think your talking about the battery guage. Go to windows/startup and delete vistahide battery guage

Hi OMJ, I've already done waaayyy too many customizations and installs to go back and reinstall your newer V2 ROM, so could you help me out and tell me where I can get the newer TCPMP that works with youtube! I tried the one linked on xda but it didn't work!

I've still got one nagging problem after flashing the leaked rom and OMJ's OEM. I have an indicator that says I have 1 unread email in my inbox when in fact my inbox is empty. The status bar says 0 items 1 unread. Is there a way to get rid of that? I tried clearing the account to no avail.

I have a Sprint Touch. Lot of posts here. Can you point me to the latest version for installing the ROM that will enable GPS (does the Sprint Touch actually have satellite based GPS?). I tried to install what I thought was the right one, but want to be sure. Also, when I go to install, the process starts, then windows says it does not recognize the USB connection and closes ActiveSync, causing the install to time out. Any thoughts?

ppst is part of carrier customization.... like I've said b4, carrier customizations are removed, UC is for the user, if you dont use, nothing to worry about.

well the title says 6.1.....

that's probably your 6 digit MSL unlock code, if you dont have it, you can either call sprint & tell them u need it for a hard reset, or there's a program around here somewhere that u can use to get it.

it's possible the newer tcpmp is not overwriting the rom tcpmp properly.....cuz the newer tcpmp is what is in v2.....you should look into UC, that way everytime you flash, it will run your cabs, setting etc...

try hard reset....i know it works, i've only flashed about a dozen times in the last few days.....lol

did ya check post #1? provide more details, which rom did u flash? did u unlock?

you may or may not have to unlock 1st if you're a sprint user......i'm pretty sure non-sprint users need to unlock 1st, but I wouldnt think so for sprint.....try the leaked rom 1st, if it fails, unlock 1st.....

regardless, you cannot flash a custom w/o being unlocked.

Is the OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.OEM.Sprint.NEW.exe a base of the version 2? I want to load a base OMJ with all the ver 2 tweaks but not the custom programs.

It's crazy! I flashed the leaked ROM and then ran the ppst.exe file in /windows. then loaded OMJ's latest custom ROM. When I launch GPSviewer, I usually get 6-8 Sats in less than 10secs. Currently Google Maps doesn't really lock without using GPSviewer first... Did you read all the posts in the sticky section?

I already have the new Rev A ROM had followed the sticky instructions earlier when I did the upgrade couple weeks ago... have been alternating between yours and Ghetto's ROMs...

Do i still need to do steps 1 and 2 or can I jump to Step 3 directly ?

Which version did you try? The only one I know to work fairly well is 2.2.0.18-beta. If you search for it, you will find it.

***DISREGARD*** I just installed it on OMJ's Sprint Custom #1 and it froze when launching. I haven't tried the latest one from Skype.

Well OMJ,
I flashed the new verson /w new Java and everything seems to work fine at this point. When I first rebooted from the flash I did have some problems with the HTC Home showing but after playing with the today setting I'm showing all 6 tabs. I also have fast GPS locks. Now if we could get someone to come out with a 20 hr battery things would be cool! (It's funny that an iPod will last so long but a cell phone won't.)

My rev-a speed are about the same as the first rom. 1.5 Mb on the download and around 450 kb on the upload. That's fast enough. It's not like I'm doing major uploading and downloading from my phone.

How do I get sprint telenav to quit looking for a blue tooth gps and use the internal?
Another version of telenav i should use?

You can use the AT&T version of telenav or flash OMJ Custom ROM which has the right sprint telenav in it. I had the same problem a while back. You'll have to search a little for the AT&T version.

Flashed first the original Sprint ROM for the radio and then v2 with 20080222 java. Opera mini 4.1 doesn't crash now but whenever I try to fill a password field, i.e. Gmail it's left blank and I cannot log in. The same happens for all password fields including on ppcgeeks.

Then I installed Jbed3Dmodheepfix from http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showt...0#entry1668675. It could log in to Gmail, but showed an empty screen. Then, I started installing jbedtestgiris. Finally, I could login to gmail correctly. About of the working jbed shows 20071119 3.1. Strange, since 20080222 worked just fine in the old OMJ 6.1 Bell rom.

Just trying this rom with my Verizon vx6900...
Stuff i figured out from reading the forum which may help peeps so they dont have to read 70 pages :)...

1. Figured out that the drop down menus only show up when you click the icon versus the Start Text just to the right of it, pretty cool. at first i was lazily hitting the general area and wondering why certain times got the drop down menus.
2. Colored Line/Bar at the top... figured out this is supposed to be the battery meter but the top right corner also has battery meter so not sure why needed.... remove VistaHide Battery Guage from windows/startup folder and startup phone, should be gone.
3. Phone Dialer pops up after closing a window for no reason... Use Total Commander and goto Plugins->///Registry to change the reg value HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\showtitlebarclock to 0 or 2 (I used 0)
4. To Change animation in the beginning bootup... Use the Programs->Utilities->Advanced Config program and scroll down to set the animation it to something else or even turn it off which is what i did
5. GPS is pretty good compared to other roms I tried. Uses GPSViewer to prime before google maps. I had ranges between 15seconds to 5minutes to lock on.
　
Some questions/issues:
1. When recieive text message, its sent to Pics and Video->Inbox, but when i send a text message, it is in Text Messages->Sent Messages. They should be in one area, i presume Text Messages as i didnt receive a pic message.
2. Is Pics/Video basically = MMS for Verizon? Heard some people have an MMS option but this seems like same as Pics/Video as that is multimedia messaging.
3. when phone goes into standby (like turn backlight off), gps loses lock i think? i wasnt sure if this is common as when people do driving directions, i assume they want the gps to stay locked so do they set their phone to not go into standby somewhere?
Also GPSViewer doesnt update the status of your lock which i didnt have that issue before with other rom. Many times i have to switch to the Setup Tab and go back to the GPS Status tab, and ill see i actually got a Aquiring 3D a long time ago.
4. in ghettoryder's vista700 rom, when using the keyboard, it has nice horizontal spelling check/word suggester that doesnt block/popup the document. The vertical popup is a lil off to me. Anyway to replace it with a horizontal word suggester without cooking my own rom?
5. How do you change the default chef screen, wanted to add a custom one i photoshopped? I saw OMJ suggested to someone to flash another rom first to change back to stock screen. But that seemed like a different question as that user swtiched to another rom but still had the chef bootscreen and wanted to know how to change it. I dont want ot flash to another rom, want to stick with OMJ's but i want to change the chef screen.
6. ICS how to get this to work? I see Internet Sharing under Programs, and then use the PC connection: USB and but in the Network Connection it says 'Data Network Connect' which seems to dial Verizon's #777 to get data access which i assume costs money. Anyway to just use my PC's connection to surf without dialing Verizon? How do you get another option like 'use USB' in that Network Connection drop down to use?

Help! I did the 2.31 unlocker and flashed it with the 0823 ROM. After the ROM updated completed I saw the customization was going to run in 3 seconds so I tried to do a soft boot. I wasn't able to reboot so I let the customization run. Afterwards, I tried calling to my voicemail and now it says that phone is not authenticated. Tried getting to the internet but it's dialing out on Sprints broadband. I saw a post to just call #2539 to get my phone authenticated but just get a repeated recording for 30 minutes running that it's trying to authenticate my phone. Any help would be appreciated

If you are not Sprint, then you should have read the multiple warnings NOT to let the customizations run.

Wheeew. Ok, I found a couple of posts to just call verizon customer service and once I did that, they called my land line and told me try again. And it worked. The only thing now is how do I remove the sprint customizations from my phone. Each time i connect to the internet, dial it always says dialing sprint.

Ouch! I ran this system long enough to determine that it was sucking up the power beyond a tolerable level. I don't know the how's or why's but within 2 hours the phone would be at 60% with almost no use. It was also noticably warmer on the battery side and took *forever* to recharge using the plain old wall charger. I've since gone back to the Sprint "stock leak" and it's running the way it had been before I put this one on the phone. Cooler, longer and much, much faster to recharge. *shrug* Beats me.

I went back to the OEM version since I was not using some of the added apps in version 2. Is there any way I could find the following three cabs: HHC home customizer, Advanced config and battery hide applicaition (where it shows the battery status in a line on the top.

when i run the ruu it finds my device and current rom but when i hit update I get "0000" ... what am i doing wrong... I downloaded the file from the link on the first page for the leaked rom .. I have the 2.3.1 unlocker loaded and am currently running a OMJ rom with a 3.37.10 radio ... I get the same thing after trying to reconect and a rebooting touch..

I experienced the same thing using the 3.37.15 radio. I downgraded the radio to 3.35.04 but kept this ROM and all is well again. Normal battery drain.

no, the OEM version is unchanged....this is for those that want the stock OEM version w/o all the apps.

yes, once you have your radio upgraded, and are also unlocked w/ 2.31, all you need to do is flash the custom of your choice.

it's possible skype is not compatible w/ 6.1.....anyone check their site for an update?

cool, glad is working for ya.....HTC Home was being weird for me too, some flashes HTC Home was there, others it wasnt showing, though it was checked in the today settings.

-I included MMS for the non-sprint users, MMS uses the pics/video inbox, not sure why your texts are going there.....what you can try is, setup UC, and have it run this verizon .xml file I put together, this will enter the MMS setting in the registry.

-I have the HTC default bootsplash in my new roms, it shouldnt be the chef.....if you want to create your own, there are many steps involved. create .png, convert to .nb, convert to flashable.nbh. also, if a custom rom (like mine) has a bootsplash .nb incorporated, you would have to extract & remove to retain your own.
-ICS is meant to share your PPC connection w/ your pc (pc uses the ppc's connection), to use visa versa use activesync.

the bell rom I made is based on the alltel rom, w/ 6.1 ported form the kaiser w/ bell settings.....i'm really not supporting that anymore, now that the new sprint rom is out.....have you tried the ppckitchen? I just checked, I think I deleted that old kitchen.....sorry

the only way to completely remove the sprint customization, would be to downgrade your SPL (unlocker) then flash your carriers stock 6.0 rom, then start over. but like I said b4....this rom is based on sprint, when it dials #777 it will say sprint, but that's just a label, it's still connections to your carriers network.

I flashed your latest non sprint rom v.2 after upgrading the radio and I love it. I took an 8 hour drive around southern Ontario and gps worked great, I did 1 reset in 8 hours and used lots of apps at the same time, no crashes, didn't try the phone with the gps on but it seems to be working.

So I find myself with google maps on standing on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and look at my phone and I see a tower like symbol next to the EV symbol, hell I am roaming from Buffalo I think, so I put the phone in standby. A word of warning to other Bell Mobility Users.

Lots of programs I don't need on this rom, like the other before it but the rom is stable working great and if I want to make my own with less programs on it I would have to spend weeks trying till I figured out the little tweeks. So OMJ you saved me lots of time in trying to make my own, Thank you again. I think I will try when you guys cooking these roms have done all the heavy work and us newbies can easily make our own....... More thanks coming, hehehe.

Anyways I have loaded the Macflobutton cube and I have found that at first it just greys the screen when you scroll the screen, after a few tries I have found that the first 2 pages show no data and the 3 work good, also it seems a little slow to start and scroll the first 2 pages. Has anyone seen behavior like this and is there a fix for it yet, if so can you post the thread.

Thanks goes out to all the brainiacs that have made it possible to break away from the stock roms with there hobbled OS and there ability to suck more money from us for something that would of cost them pennies to implement and made make more money from more users that want to use there phones, hehehe I love it.

Yes i am trying to flash to the rom with the 7.15 radio. I downloaded it from the link on the first post of this thread... Can i flash to the new cooked rom with the 7.10 radio or do I need to upgrade to the 7.15 radio first???? I have no problem with the cooked roms but the official ones seem to give me grief and show up with this version # of 0.0.0.0 .... I abort the upgrade when I see the "0.0.0.0"

Ok OMJ, sorry for cloggin up your thread with yet another gps question but do you have any idea about why I can't get locks with my gps using your rom? hahah, I know its not your rom specifically.

The only setup I had working gps with was your earlier bell rom and the 3.35 radio. Thinking that it would be better to have an actual vogue radio I flashed to 3.37.10 tried out the gps (didn't work) and then flashed 3.37.15 with the leaked sprint radio. I have been alternating between your oem and custom roms but still no luck with getting locks. I can see the sats (at least 8) but no darn locks even outside on a clear sunny day.

I've flashed different radios over the past few weeks (in ascending order only) and I think there is some residual stuff in my phone from the previous radios that could be messing it up (just a guess).

I'm sure everybody is sick of gps questions but I feel a little left out haha. Even a fellow bell touch user has gps up and running (with your custom rom and 3.37.15 radio). I have tried to contact him in another thread but no answer yet.

So I was just wondering if you or anybody else had any ideas. I thought I should post in this thread instead of making a new one just because I'd really like to get this gps working with your rom cus I like it the best.

I am using 3.37.10 radio, omj's sprint custom, have gps mode set to 4 and i get decent gps reception. I am near Toronto and even with the cloudy sky I was getting 3-4 locks today .It's clearnig now so i will see if it makes a difference shortly .. I "prime gps" with gps viewer and then open TT6 .. Sometimes the lock on the gps is slow but most times within a min or so and I am locked and ready to go .... Bell user here also

Have you tried installing the GPSKickstart drivers. That helped me get a lock...and I was having the same sort intermittent locking problems with OMJ Bell ROM.

Hi There,

I do have the Bell ROM with GPS.

It does work with HTC Touch (well for me) but the locks are pretty slow to get. It finds quickly some sats but does not lock to it. After a while (maybe 2-3 minutes), it will lock.

Also, if you use gps viewer, you will get good results. The GPSToday always gave me some trouble.

The only bad thing I experience (beside the slow locks) is the GPS will sometimes hangs if exemple, I don't close the com ports or if I close a software without disabling the gps. It will hang. To make it work again, I just have to soft reset the device
