Version 2, Yay, can't wait!

FYI, I've been using the Opera Mobile 9.5 beta and it is so much better than Mini 8.65 (especially if you take the time to tweak the 'opera:config' file. I don't know if you want to cook it in instead.

Also, have you figured out the RevA slowdown? I'm loving the < 10sec GPS locks with 8-10 Sats, but the internet bogs down in PIE and Opera, so I know it isn't the browser's fault.

Verison 1 is really unstable. Tcpmp freeze up phone all the time.

I had the same thing happen to me, freaked me out while I was driving. Hope there is a fix for this, everything else is working great.

that is task manager....which is disabled, because QuickMenu will close the programs.


If you currently are unlocked w/ 2.31, the leaked will NOT relock the phone.....it sounds like it's best to unlock w/ 2.31 then run the leaked rom to upgrade the radio, then flash a custom rom.

I really havent been testing GPS, it was working great (for some) v2 was just some enhancements & fixs.

more info......did you upgrade your radio? if not, run the leaked rom 1st.

I havent been testing rev a too....my last speed test was great. I'll test again now.

well if ya did some readin, you'd see it's mentioned numerous times in numerous threads that a new version of tcpmp is needed.

I believe mini is at version 4.1 (beta).

I haven't been tethering, so I can't test speeds in that department, but my skyfire has been running as fast as I would expect.

Tell me... what have you done since loading the ROM to get consistent and fast GPS locks? I have to wait 30 min to get a lock.
Did you simply flash the ROM and start google maps and use GPS? Is it that simple, or am I missing something?

That QuickMenu thing is not working all the time (I din't have that issues with old version of your rom (Pre GPS/RevA)

Also is it possible to add TCPMP like it used to be in older versions.
I installed it separatly but id doesn't work with internet radio anymore.

I forgot to finish my statement.....if you want to use task manager, 1st goto start\quickmenu\option\view, then uncheck "show battery on taskbar"

next goto the settings\system\task manager\button check "enable the X button" & also check "enable quick menu on today screen"

Still getting the issue when I make some kind of change, the phone screen pops up.

this fix has been in my roms for some time now....BUT there are apps out there that if you install, it causes the showtitlebar to go back to 0, so you have to change it yourself.

Yep, it will re-appear if you install certain things during user customization. Easy way is to make a final.xml with that in it and run it as the last thing in your sdconfig.txt. It is in the rom, the two things I have that bring it back is spb pocketplus, and spb phonesuite...

I have what might sound like a stupid question, when i flash a ROM that has REV A what should the display at the top of the screen say. Mine still says

no worries, all still say that, but you should definately notice an increase in you internet browsing speeds man.. once i flashed my first rev a rom, it was no doubt that i had quicker speeds, because opera mini was FLYING, same goes for skyfire an Opera mobile 9.405

Hey OMJ, I don't know if it's just me.. but when I try to Enable the Service Aquire and Lost Tone in ( Settings/Phone/Services/Alert ) it automatically goes back to Disabled once I click OK. -

Is this happening to anyone else?

Do you know of any way to fix this? I tried reading thru the pages but there's 60+ :(

Just curious, how do you guys run speedtests on your phones? I can tell my phone has been going faster while browsing since the bump to Rev.A, but whenever I go to speedtest.net, the test doesn't budge (using IE with Flash Mobile 7).

A quick question before I flash, I am running 3.37.10 radio with OMJBell rom from 4/30 or so.

should I flash the new sprint 3.37.15 radio rom and reset at user customization and then flash this v.2 rom, am I missing anything and is there an issue with ppst that I have been reading about in previous post. I am with Bell Mobility.

I'm with Bell as well, apparently only Verizon and Sprint users can run ppst.exe, anyone else will screw up their phone's settings.

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

is ppst included in any of the roms or is it only run as a cab after the flash?, should I worry about it if I just flash the 2 above roms

this is a stupid question because I know the answer, the sticky for the 3.02 rom says 3.35+ is needed, 3.37.10 is the + of that requirement right

Don't worry about ppst. You're with Bell so you can't use it anyways.

As for the Radio version, you're correct, 3.35 is the minimum. So 3.37 will be fine :)

@OMJ: Is there by any chance any way to get the 1% Battery update without flashing to v2? The rest of the included apps don't really serve much use for me at the time. Thanks :)

just got v2 installed and everything is looking good. GPS seems to be working too. Couple questions... Anyone else having a problem where after texting and other things you see the call screen like you just got off a call? Also, has anyone got the pic/video messaging to work?

Again just FYI, I was able to log into aim, yahoo and live without a problem. There was a problem with live earlier, I couldn't log in from the desktop either, but it seems to be ok again.

I too like this V2. I am on Verizon and so far all is well. GPS picked up and locked a lot faster (in my house no less) even compared to how long it took in the middle of a 1200 drop zone.

I do have a question though.

Does anyone know if there is a way to display MGRS instead of Lat/Long coordinates? By the way for those that do not know already, MGRS is Military Grid Reference System. It would be good in GPS Viewer and even better in GPS Today (say instead of address as an option).

I am trying to get my Rev A status and found a program that has espt on top but asks for a code to enter, is this something that can be found on the site or do I have to buy something to use it.

I think I missed a step and now my sprint touch freezes on the HTC splash screen


I unlocked w/ ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker

then installed OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.Sprint.Custom.v2.exe

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

OMJ, The Service Acquire and Lost Tone, does it work for you? Are you able to enable it (and stay enabled) or is it just me? I think every ROM I've used of yours, right from the start, has had this problem for me. It just won't stay enabled!

It might not be important to a lot of people but I don't live in a big city so service isn't available everywhere here. Sometimes when I'm in certain areas I lose service and don't even know about it. :(

Is there anything I can do?

Just updated! When I go to settings; personal,system, or connections in quick menu, it closes quick menu. Then if I pick settings in the regular start menu it locks up. Have to do a soft reset?? What is going on. It's done it 4 times now?? I can't get to the settings page??
