I just tried to boot up in "Safe Mode" . I was able to get the Alltel Rom update wizard running. It ran without the Windows error. Too bad Activesync won't run in safe mode. I think my problem is computer specific. Hopefully I can figure out what's wrong and get this rom flashed and finally have GPS!

ok i got the alltel rom running but i was just wondering if it would be safe to load a backup of all my stuff i had before i switched roms?

What would be the point of loading a backup? Everything is just going to be erased when you flash the new ROM. Did you mean make a backup? That would make more sense, and really is a good idea.

i already flashed the alltel rom. this is a backup i made about an hour ago before i flashed the alltel rom when i had all of my programs and stuff. i was just wondering if it would be safe to activate the backup on the phone now since the backup was made on a different rom.

oh great the backup didn't work so now i have to reinstall all of my programs over.

How am i supposed to find sprint tv and the sprint applications.

Any one tried this on a Telecom New Zealand, OKTA Touch? It should work but we don't have a stock ROM to go back to (not that I know of anyway)!

I've read that people are getting faster lock times with this regedit:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SUPL AGPS]
"GPSMode"=dword:00000002
change from 2 to 4

It looks like you haven't been following the thread though, so you might want to reread it and follow all the instructions to the letter. Learn from others mistakes, and there have been quite a few

Just tried iGuidance. It worked but worked poorly huge delays. I kinda expected that based on what I read in Mogul forum.

So I installed GPSGate (http://franson.com/) and now iGuidance is working great.

For setup. I did a manual setup. And set Input to "WM GPS" and Output to "Virtual COM" and COM1. Everything at 4800 Baud. I did not set it to start on boot.
