How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

ok starting from the begining i started the unlocker went through the prompts it poped up with the update rom utility did that went through 100% clicked finished. the phone turned back on. I did not let customizing finished i soft reset. the phone came back so now what. This is where im at as of right now. I redid everything to this point

well bravo for figuring this out. sux because the usb on my phone itself is broke and i cant sync at all. gotta wait till my new phone gets here monday. hopefully by that time someone will have cooked up a sweet rom for this whole thing that slipstreams the process. once again excelent work op ^_^

easier hard reset would be to hold down the red and green buttons and then hit the reset button

not if you have a program to control your ppc on the computer :-p. easy as a click of a button then :-p

the reason i was asking is because i dont have the data plan, is it free for me to use the gps feature on my phone?

I mean its working.. so... i'm not exactly sure what you're looking for.. GPS? Follow the instructions on the main page. You want to download the last 2 links that say - Unlocking Files: and - GPS Files:, and then follow from step 6. Its all right there.

GPS would be free, but you would need a program that already has the maps downloaded, unlike Google Maps or Live Search where you have to have a data connection to get the maps.

I am having problems with gps working I followed the first post instructions to a t. I did a hard reset and tried again and still nothing. The only thing that looks fishy to me is that when I click programs 1 and 3 out of the 3 program pack they do not launch anything. program 2 notifies me of an installation like other programs, but 1 and 3 do not. There is just a slight screen flicker. is this normal, or possibly the source of my problem.

Also, musicman i remember seeing in the first thread about a problem with cubes and macflo. Did you ever get this working on the alltel rom?

Finally, I may have never noticed this on the Sprint rom before, but if you click on the icons in the top for battery and such it zooms in to big icons. I love this (if it worked on the Sprint Rom, I am dense.)

Yes so long as you're not using google maps or using live search. Tom Tom and others that come with maps is what you're looking for. It takes about a gig of space. It also isn't free... and some have said they haven't gotten tom tom to work without having google maps or something running first. If you want to try tom tom to see if it works... I don't think theres a trial.... but it'd also be messed up to buy it and then not have it work. There's places that you can find it to try it out. Thats all i'll say.
