Ok. Loaded up just fine, let the customization run, and tested. Internet works, GPS is flashing blue dot in google maps looking for sats. Internet is super fast.

Is QuickGPS recommended?
(I apologize for double posting but this thread is moving kinda fast and I'm sure that some posts can be easily lost) Thanks! John |

Re: New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled
My carrier is bell and i got GPS enabled on my phone, its off by a couple of blocks though. I have 1 satellite in view and 1 in use (but then again im in my basement). I followed the instructions of unlocking my phone, installing the alltell rom, unlocking certs 1, 2, and 3 with a soft reset inbetween unlocking certs, installed HTC_enable_GPS, installed quickGPS and set GPS to com4. I'm not sure how to test the speed of my connection on my phone though, and im not even sure if Bell supports revA.

Two ways to test rev a, make a phone call and then open up internet explorer and browse the web. Rev a makes it possible now for you to do so, so if it works you should get websites open while on the phone. Another way, less reliable, is going to dslreports.com/mspeed and testing your speed on that site. Best I've gotten with 1-2 bars is 300kb/s which is faster than what I've gotten before. I believe you can get up to ~900kb/s... i've seen 1000kb/s with rev a. The site though isn't inconsistant in tests. |
