New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled

after installing Alltel ROM ##778# doesnt work. May be in ALLtel needs another code? Help please.

Normally issues like going into ##778# are due to custom dialers. I'm not sure what alltel uses. Some carriers also don't need the last #... so try just ##778 and wait a second. Try a hard reset as well if that doesn't work, again don't allow customizations to take place with the alltel rom, soft reset as soon as it tries to.

I was getting a lock with the Alltel ROM, but now I can't seem to get a lock in JD's ROM using Google maps. I just hard reset and only installed Google Maps. All of the settings are right (com 4, location on, etc), but it never locks on a satellite. Any ideas?

No ideas here except make sure you're in an open area when you try to get a satellite lock. Also, satellites do move, so there may be times where you don't have as many satellites in your area... unless all GPS satellites have geosynchronous orbits.

Don't change any settings. Hard reset, install google maps. Give it 1-2 minutes to lock. You shouldn't need to set anything to com4. Should work out of the box.

Tried that and Google Maps eventually said it couldn't get a lock on any satellites.

Make sure you have location set to on in settings -> phone -> services -> location setting -> get settings. Also make sure your time and date are correct.

You might just want to hard reset one more time just to make sure... somehow it took me 2 hard resets before it worked.

After that.. I don't know.. make sure you're outside? ;p

I don't have google maps but I had to manually set my Live Search to port 4 from intermediate driver for it to work. Running JD's rom by the way. Everything's great except for the ugly cube!!! we need macflo on here MM247!

It took me 2 shots with QuickGPS before I could get anything with GoogleMaps. For some reason, it is like the first download didn't get the info it needed. Perhaps this will work for you.
