Re: New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled

I have unlimited browsing with Bell for $7,so if i switch to the new firmware with GPS and Rev-A then how data charges will appear on my bill? are they still going to be for mobile browsing?

It still counts as browsing and it shoudn't cost you anymore for rev-a speeds. GPS is just getting signals from satellites and then doing triangulation and other stuff to figure out where you are. Doesn't use the internet. The map data on the other hand, depends what you're using. But thats either stored on your phone ala tom tom or downloaded on the fly using the web ala google maps and live.

I can vouch that JD's ROM works like a charm for GPS! Much better than the Alltel ROM.

With the alltel people were getting it to work by installing a cab file for gps drivers meant for the titan. I'm not sure what JD is using, but he sure as hell does know alot so i wouldn't be surprised if he already has it working better than any stock rom.

It's "better" because JD packaged the GPS files with the ROM. You don't have to run the 4 files. It is also quicker than the Alltel ROM.

I'm not sure exactly what it contains, but it seems he's taken the best of all the stock ROMs and meshed them together in a symphony of win!

WAAAAY off topic, but here's the answer anyway.

Go into one of your accounts

Tap Menu>Tools>Options

Uncheck the box that says "Display account picker when opening Messaging"

tap ok
