Re: New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled

Hi Guys,
Great job on the work. I've been following this thread since it was only page 15. After getting my touch just a little over a month ago from bell I've been waiting for the day to get gps on it. I've unlocked and flashed my rom before but used the OEM Bell ROM. I never tried customization so I don't know what it'll look like when it does its thing. How do I know when to stop customization after I install the alltel rom
? I noticed that another user has successfully got gps working on a Bell Touch so I'm thinking of trying it on mine as well but the whole stopping customization worries me. Any help on telling me what I should do when I install Alltel's Rom and when to stop it so that customization doesnt occur. Thanks.

So do a soft reset right when its about to start by either popping out the battery or hitting that button at the bottom right with the stylist. Don't let the customizations run, someone had to reprogram their phone after doing that.

Thanks blisk, but what I'm concern about is distinguishing when the Alltel finishes and user customization starts. I've never used a rom that had customization so I'm not too sure what it'll look like. Just don't want to have that same problem as you mentioned. Thanks for you help.

You don't want alltel to start or finish. There's not any user customization how you're thinking it like in the custom roms. In those cases user customization is used to install programs you like so you can further customize the rom the way you like. It'll say customization will start in 3 seconds with a big ok button, and then it'll pop up and have a progress bar at the bottom. You don't want any of that.. it installs alltel specific stuff into the phone settings.

Thanks blisk. Hopefully I don't screw up. If I do, will the instructions to going back be the same for Bell as it is for Sprint?

Loaded JD latest test rom and GPS is working (Google maps) although it took a long time to get a hit... Did have that dreaded replog error also.

That is probably the only thing that bothers me about these WM 6.1 roms. Those damn errors in bad coverage areas...

Thanks JD!

tough cookie dude,

im kinda leery about taking the jump so early, plus sprint is sending me a new touch on monday, and i dont wanna go thru the process twice, but im itching to make the jump.

The first step to solving the problem is admitting you have one,

and i SERIOUSLY have a problem when it comes to electronics, lol
