Re: New Alltel Rom?

Honestly, I think htc needs to quit sitting on their hands with this. They aren't getting more or less cash either way. They know their hardware best (or at least they should). The only thing that I can think would keep them from starting the GPS on these phones would be if the chip supplier didn't include specs for GPS, but that is unlikely as they turned GPS on for the mogul. I don't know...

I'm not sure how long the titan took, but I had a bb pearl for a while. It took a bit of time too, but even in-doors it never took this long. I think it would at least acquire a satellite or two, but it doesn't see any.

If I am not mistaken, the first time on the Titan took about 15 minutes while being outside (I was in my car) to register to the satellites, and every time after that it only took a minute or 2.

On my Titan it only took about 2 or 3 minutes to acquire them for the first time (outside).

Haha... wow. The BB never took quite that long. I didn't stand outside for 15 min though. I will try and see what happens. Most I stood around for was 3.

Does anyone know how to get these drivers to load at startup?

Edit:
Okay, so I tried pointing google to com4 instead of letting windows sort things out. Says no receiver was found. Is this a clue putting us further or closer to the prize? Anyway... going outside now.

Also, is there any way to turn on assisted gps?

htc is not sitting on their hands. if it was up to the oem theyd have every unlocked solution available in their handsets b/c it brings brand recognition. the carriers are to blame for this one, but as a betting man id say sprint and vzw are waiting for both rev and gps to be working, which obviously isnt yet. alltel (a great carrier with a serious inferiority complex) decided to steal some of the spotlight and roll out a working rev a update in lieu of gps.

Has anyone actually confirmed Rev A speeds? I may have missed it, but I haven't seen any speed tests that would prove a Rev A connection yet.

It is a 3+ series radio, so going by the Titan numbering convention I would assume it is Rev A enabled, but I'd still like some evidence. Even just a Rev A reference in EPST would be encouraging. Anybody checked that?
