Re: Cook your own Custom Touch ROM

I tried JD's Clean ROM, which is what I was currently using on my touch and got an error while decompiling. Don't remember exactly what the error was.
So.....I deleted the kitchen and started fresh. This time trying OMJ's clean ROM and had another Error while decompiling.
This is when a light bulb came on in my head and said "STOCK ROM". I opened the stock Sprint .exe with winrar and extracted BOTH .nbh files. My uneducated %$#, instead of reading on, decided to put both .nbh files into the root of the kitchen and try decompiling. This time I also got an error message. Of course hind sight is twenty twenty and I was only supposed to put the largest .NBH in the root.
Instead of reading on in this thread, I went on to try with the only other ROM that was hanging out on my desktop which was Dharvey's uber clean ROM. This time, it seemed as everything went on without a hitch except, when the phone tried to boot up, it got stuck in one of the boot screens. I have done all of these thing several time without any luck: taken out the battery for 30 seconds, hard reset, soft reset.
When I have had this issue in the past, I could do a hard reset and then flash a different ROM from that point. Problem is, laptop is giving error, not recognizing USB. I plugged my Mogul in with the same chord and it worked fine. Could be that one of the pins in the touch were bent during the process but I was not plugging in and unplugging the phone during the whole ordeal.

EDIT: I did plug in my car charger last night and get the LCD light to light up. After trying it today for S.A.G, it did no light up. I am going to search about how to get around the modified boot screen and getting Sprint to replace it. If I find nothing, I will start a new thread.
Wow that's really not cool. I would suggest trying the bootloader thing again.

Put the vogue in bootloader, flash a custom that you know works. My suggestion though, use another computer. One with Windows XP where you haven't been messing around like this.
