did you get everthing up and running then? just to confirm/clarify though, dharvey's tutorial puts you to the 3.37 radio (via the alltel rom, like has been said, you could also use the sprint leaked rom to do this), and he ALSO has a method with which you can get to the 3.35 radio if you really want to (ive heard lots say its better, and lots say it isnt).

good luck!

Re: Derek's ROM v19 w/ GPS - Updated 04-30-08

sms is working just fine. i must've had a bad flash. after reflashing the leaked sprint ROM (and allowing its customizations to run this time) sms works perfectly. i think the other person who reported sms not working was having issues related to the fact he is on alltell and this is a sprint ROM

i have to say that i mostly agreed with you on this previously. however, after having a look here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26410 and seeing the results thereof, i am convinced that the GPS on the vogue is actually quite effective now. im not sure if there is anyway to include the ppst.exe mentioned in your rom and auto-install it (or just put it somewhere with directions), but i think it could/would make a GREAT addition (if that is how it works, everyone is saying to run ppst.exe on the new leaked sprint rom).

as per all of this, everyone can now have awesome gps reception and timing on their vogues! a few have said reception is as good or better than their BT receivers

So the important thing when evaluating gps changes/fixes/performance, is that your tests be consistent. WAY too many users have to wait 10 minutes for a first fix, make a registry change, and then exclaim miraculous improvements when the subsequent fix only takes 10 seconds.

I try to base my observations on (somewhat) prolonged use under similar conditions with repeatability being key, and ppst seems to have made a huge difference.

That's every bit as good as I was getting with my BT GPS puck!!!

No lock-ups or other issues all day.

Keeping my fingers crossed for continued testing...

I had 18 sats locked onmy way home today and I lock on to at least 10 while in my house.... Great JOB........

I will see how it works tomorrow morning after being in standby for 8+ hours.
not to mention the fact that a couple of the aforementioned people are fairly respected in the ppc community...(aka they prob know whats going on, been around the block a time or two).

I just flashed the leaked Sprint ROM. The built in Sprint navigation program is pretty cool. I'm gonna stay w/ it until Derek releases v20.

Re: Derek's ROM v19 w/ GPS - Updated 04-30-08

If you guys want GPS to work near flawlessly this is what you need to do. Install the Sprint leaked Rom again. Let it do it's customizations. After it reboots go to windows and run PPST.exe again, this time it should actually update your PRI to 2.03. After this update my gps gets 20 second locks more sattelites and doesn't have that suspend issue anymore. Even though I think the suspend issue is more because of the new sprint rom rather than the PRI file. Once you've updated the PRI you can go back to Derek's V20 rom which uses the new Sprint base.
