Inside of the OEM folders is the config.txt which needs to be edited. I believe I found it under "ExtenededPKG". If you don't see it, go into Tool>Folder Options>View and make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected, and also that Hide protected operating system files is UNchecked. I then dropped the .exe file into "OEMAPPS". That's it. Here is the link I followed, even though it doesn't go into that much detail. Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366333

I love this more especially since there really is only two 3rd party apps I ever install outside what you've already provided. (TouchPal & VistaBatteryBar) Thanks again.. I'm trying out the rom now..
LOL, I see your vision man. I hardly use any 3rd party apps either.

i like the idea of the user customization so we can add what we want, but itd be nice to see resco back in the rom.
Check out this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...0&postcount=19

The reason I took resco out was because it was an older version anyway, causing me to have to download and install the update and making nullifying the point of even being in the ROM. Not to mention I know a lot of people use Total Commander.

Everything runs so much better, sms is a lot snappier vs my last rom (JD's Fury Rom), but just to keep from comparing roms, I'm sure its simply because this has less running at startup. Exactly what I wanted!

Thanks again!
No problem man.

Wow so this ROM by itself installs everything originally found on the Sprint Touch (w/ WM6.1) EXCEPT for the Sprint stuff?

Edit:
I've just installed this ROM. I noticed in the about screen that it lists this as: CE OS 5.2.1620

The clean ROM by OMJ in this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17963

is: CE OS 5.2.18125

What's the difference between these two CE versions? The build versions are the same: 19199.1.0.0.No2

I have CE OS 5.2.1825 19199.1.0 No2 as well, this is from Nu-Rom-V 107. I have seen some other posts on this topic and no one seems to to have offerered any answers. My guess is that one of hte numbers is whatever the cook left it at and the other comes from the CE platform builder version. When I look at the bug fixes Month to month on MSDN and I think about the fact that the rom will stick around until I reflash entirely, I tend to be far more picky about what is on there. Similar to the reason that everyone here seems to dislike the idea of putting anything unnessary into Rom that will likely be upgraded by the time you are finished setting up your system as you like it.
I am slightly more concerned about the driver versions. I am down to 2.14 (was at 2.17) and there are definite fixes between the two. Furthermore I see that some other platforms are up to 3.??.
At this point in the product cycle they are likely just fixing bugs and optimizing performance* so there the differences are there, but not easy to describe.

*with a few notable execptions - i.e. gps and reva

Disclaimer: I am a console programmer, I know that developing for Cell Phones is completely different. i.e. While developing a PS3 launch title we probably spent at least half of our time working on performance and stability.

I usually soft reset on first boot to avoid any extra installs. Then I look through the config*.txt to see whats missing - just encase something useful or essential is there. (although it is usually just sprint crap)

If I don't soft reset will it run the config_pt.txt and config_operator.txt (or whatever they are called). These tend to do bad things (especially because I have a Telus Vogue).
Also, what is the difference between ROM memory and program memory? Don't they both reside in the same 256M Flash "ROM" on Vogue? I like to keep things clean, but I have yet to use more than half of my 256 on board Flash. More DDR would be nice.

Thanks!

David
anyone know where to find 5.2.19?

Mr.jcarter, this is the best "clean" ROM I've found so far (the best for me anyway).

I found one thing in it that looks kind of strange. In the Settings screen, the icon for "Task Manager" is a big, black, backwards "L" shaped thing with the earth in the top left corner. Is that how that icon is really supposed to look?

What's the difference b/w the Esmertec Java and the one in the stock Sprint ROM?

Finally, do you plan on updating this ROM or checking into some of the things we've commented about on this ROM?

Thanks again!

I just finished a ROM with CE OS 5.2.1933 and WM6.1 ( 107 ).

It contains the following:
---------------------------------
HTC Home Plugin
HTC "X" Button Task Manager
Touch Keyboard
Windows Live
Vista Dialer Skin
Vista Keyboard Skin
HTC Streaming Media Player
Esmertec Java from No2Chem
HTC Wait Animation
Sprint Logo Boot Animation
Sprint Voicemail Today Plugin
HTC Large Start Menu
HTC Album
Blue Cube Icons

I will test it tonight and tomorrow and then post it if anyone is interested.
