OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM with UC! v8 Updated 04-16-08

No they are not staying white, but they should not stay grey forever also.

It should be no arrows. Than when something wants to go online they go white and flash when transferring... Then they go grey when no traffic, and then after x period of no data they go away, which means it drops the data session all the way.

Those staying gray is it keeping the data session open, but it’s just not transferring anything. This has a great affect on battery. I use to work for data support for a cell company and this was tested. While it takes a bit more to build and drop the session, if the user does not use it, in the long run it saves a lot more power.

Normally when the phone goes online it does the dialing 777 and connects, but say if I don’t go online and come back 2 hours later it has to do that again. In this case it does not, it’s already on...

As for the task manager, is this the one that shows next to the battery icon?

the original task manager is in my ROM, but it's disabled by default. Just go into start/settings/system and you'll see it, then you can enable it. If you don't want to use QM , hit start/quickmenu/exit then choose yes.....it shouldn't load again.

I verified it by flashing back to shipped rom, and after some time the arrows go away... On this ROM they stay much longer... Either something is going online every now and than causing it to stay active longer, or some reg setting that is not correct and its not timing out after x amount of time with no activity. It seems ones it actually ends its session it will stay off until I go online, but its taking forever to actually end.

Other than that this rom is GREAT! Keep up the great work. (Note: I have not used any prior ones so not sure if they all have this problem... I saved the best for last,

But... AEbutton plus won't open for me. I click it but nada. Any clues?

I had that problem also... But I did not care to use it so removed from startup anyway.

well, I've always known WM to behave like this:

no data connection


Once it dials 777 to authenticate, active data connection


Inactive data connection


I have never seen the grey arrows go back to no connection, even on stock roms, unless I soft reset. I believe there is a registry tweak out there to kill the connection, but I don't know what it is. Also, I wouldn't think grey arrows would be a battery drain.

yeah, UC is pretty slick....I like it more for loading my XML.....thx for the cyber beer dude!

glad ya like it! yeah, when you click on AEbutton, is just runs the program in the background.....to open to configure, launch Total Commander, then go into Program Files\AEBPlus\AEBPlusSettings.exe

i flashed to v7, but i think im still a little new to *** this, what exactly does UC enable you to do that I couldnt do before? I dont really see much of a change...

It allows you to customize your device by adding your own .cab files with each new install. Place this file on your devices storage card.
Here is what my file looks like.

I think I was doing hard resets for 3 hours yesterday, but I got it. A little messy with my HIDE apps, but works just fine!

I have most of my desired programs already in my ROM, except TouchPal (only because it's the pro version). Here is my SDconfig:
