Re: Help with switching my new TP from Sprint to Cricket
Oh snap.
I just switched from cricket to sprint after 8 years with cricket. 2 titans, 1 tp, and 1 diamond. Take the info as you please. When you dial ##778# it will ask for a code. If device is set up for cricket the code is 000000 or 333333. Those are the only codes that work with cricket. If you search for BAFMSL it will give you the code if it is not either of the 2 above. Check your previous cricket devices on same phone number and see if it displays your MIN. If not, you may need to contact cricket for the info. I myself have found on all my accounts my MIN is the same as the phone #, but MAY not apply to others. If your MSL code is not the above all 0's or 3's you will need to write them to device. Search for QPST and download newest version. It's free. You will need to dial ##diag# on device and then let it be. Then open QPST and open QPST config. It will find your device only after you have dialed ##diag# and plugged your phone into pc AFTER you opened QPST config. BAFMSL will give you your code after you input your esn and make sure you have caps and lower case correct. QPST will ask for your MSL. Input what BAFMSL code is givin and sellect read from device. Only use first tab and second tab to make changes, or you will find yourself shutting it down and starting over again. In first tab change your code to 000000, and in second tab change the carrier name to cricket (this is perm and will show on device cricket instead of sprint on carrier name) and press write to device. Once you have set your MSL to 000000, shut down QPST, unplug and reset your device. Dial ##778# and enter new code. Now there are 2 ways of setting up pst. The hard way and the hard way. Hard way #1 is writing everything in pst yourself, hard way #2 is inputing a 1x prl, reseting your device and dialing *228. It is hard way cause you may have to input every 1x prl for cricket and reseting til you find one that will go all the way thru *228 with out hanging up on you half way thru. You can find all prls for all carriers thru www.coralodo.com (you may need to search google for the correct website if I spelled it wrong) If done corectly it will set up everything for you and some cabs from this site will fix the rest for you. In this site search for "one cab cricket mms/wap" it will give you a "remove arcsoft cab" and a "cricket mms/wap cab" After you get *228 to take, in pst settings look for security (its been a while for me, doing best I can) and find ppp auth and it should be your 10digitphone#@mycricket.com and the password under should be cricket. The settings below that should be the same. Somewhere else you will find a setting that should be simple ip. Search howardforums.com under cricket forum and find RYANMUGOLS pst settings. When you get *228 to work, follow his instuctions ONLY looking for what he states about ppp auth mentioned above and what he says about simple IP. After having my device working for long time, I tried using his PST settings and my phone quit working. You can use his settings or do as I instructed, either way it is not a simple flash. After you have the correct MSL code set (mms/wap wont work unless you do), you try all the PRLs till they take (or do ryans setup) and then do the cabs mentioned above. Search howardforums for cricket mms resize fix, you will be set. I spent 1 1/2 years on cricket with ppc devices making them work. If you need further help, hit me up. I am dead beat tired, and have had a few beers, so a refresh for me after sleeping, and I will be better help for you.
